Turner hits game winning shot for the Celtics over top Eastern Conference Team the Atlanta Hawks

I only wished I had NBA TV or the League Pass, so I could have watched this game. Growing up and started watching basketball in the 80's I was a die hard Celtics fan watching Larry Bird, Kevin McHale and Robert Parrish. Last night's game has to be the oddest and interesting game in Boston Celtics History. I've always heard it doesn't matter how you start a game, but how you finish a game that matters. The Boston Celtics never once in this game lead until Evan Turner hits a game winning jumper to give the Boston Celtics an 89-88 over top seeded Eastern Conference NBA Team Atlanta Hawks. I have to admit I'm stunned and baffled by this win. To me a win is a win though as long as you played within the rules. Jared Sullinger lead the way for the Boston Celtics with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. Marcus Thornton scored 14 points and 3 rebounds off the bench. Evan Turner scored 12 points, 9 assists, and 7 rebounds. The Boston Celtics trail the 8th seeded Miami Heat by 1 and a half game for the 8th seed. In the loss for the Atlanta Hawks, Al Horford lead the way with 22 points and 12 rebounds. DeMarre Carroll added 14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Here are the stats for each team.

Avery Bradley scores 21: Tyler Zeller adds 18 to lead Celtics to win over Nets : What moves will the Celtics make

Do you think that Danny Ainge has a move up his sleeve? Will Jeff Green and Brandon Bass be traded? The Boston Celtics are 10th in the Eastern Conference, and trail the 8th seed Miami Heat by 2 games. I find it's possible that the Celtics could make the playoffs. I think they should keep Green and Bass to free up some cap space for 2015. If you have any knowledge on how much cap space the Celtics have for next year send me some comments. Last night the Boston Celtics was up against the Brooklyn Nets. The Boston Celtics defeated the Brooklyn Nets 89-81. Avery Bradley to me is now the leader of this franchise in my opinion. Bradley lead the way in the win for the Boston Celtics with 21 points and 4 rebounds. Center Tyler Zeller scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Brandon Bass added 9 points and 9 rebounds. The Eastern Conference is usually a wide open from seeds 5-8. The Boston Celtics last night improved to 4-6 by beating the Philadelphia 76ers 101-90. Brandon Bass lead the way for the Boston Celtics with 23. Jared Sullinger who I actually thought was going to be an NBA bust added 22 points. Here are the stats for each team.

Boston Celtics Thoughts

It's nice to see Rajon Rondo in the lineup assisting. I will miss him if he ends up leaving the Boston Celtics.
I think this team has some solid depth with Marcus Thornton, Marcus Smart and James Young. Evan Turner is alright in spurts.
If you think you're losing Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green to free agency trade them for some young pieces and 1st round draft picks.
The Celtics shot 49 percent for the game.
Can the Celtics sneak into the playoffs this year?
If I'm the Celtics next year I draft either Stanley Johnson, Emmanuel Mudiay, Karl Anthony Towns or Jahii Okafor.

Philadelphia 76ers Thoughts

I think this 0-11 start has to be the worst start in Sixers history. While many people may not like what the 76ers are doing, I get exactly what they are doing. I don't think it's tanking, I think it's rebuilding.
Tony Wroten has seemed to cut down on his turnovers. He is the bright spot this year so far for the Sixers.
Nice to see MCW back in the lineup for the Sixers
Rookie KJ McDaniels scored 8 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block in 11 minutes of action. I don't get why KJ didn't play more in this game.

Final Thoughts

I feel in the coming seasons both the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers are two teams on the rise. It won't be this year and maybe not the next. But I look for in the 2016-2017 season to see Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers at the top of the Atlantic Division. Send me your thoughts about this game or any other game. Celtics win opener with high powered offense over Nets

It always feels nice to win the first game of the season. Last night the Boston Celtics put on an offensive explosion by beating the Brooklyn Nets 121-105. Here are the top scorers for each team.

Boston Celtics Thoughts

8 Players for the Celtics were in double figures. When 8 players can score at least 10 points your odds of winning increase.
Marcus Smart looked solid in his rookie season debut. Smart scored 10 points, 4 steals, 2 assists on 3 of 7 shooting. If Rondo gets traded I could see Smart being the starting point guard.
Evan Turner while not my favorite signing during the off-season, Turner was solid. Evan Turner scored 10 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists on 5 of 9 shooting.
Rajon Rondo looked solid with his double double. The question will be will Rondo be traded? If you were to trade Rondo what would you want back?

Brooklyn Nets Thoughts

Mirza Teletovic played great. I think he is a solid player
Deron Williams looked good and a little bit like his old self. Hopefully D-Will will remain healthy, and carry this team to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Jarret Jack had an impressive shooting night off the bench.
I feel that the Nets will finish 2nd in the Atlantic Division and will make the playoffs.

30 Days 30 Grades: Day 2 : The Boston Celtics Off-Season Grade

Welcome to day 2 of the 30 Days 30 Grades post. Today I am going to give my grade, and some thoughts on how I think the Boston Celtics did during the off-season. My list consists of players added meaning through the draft, a trade or signed through free agency. On players subtracted my list consist of players either traded away or lost to free agency to another team.

My Grade for the Boston Celtics is C+

Players Added: Marcus Smart, James Young, Evan Turner, Marcus Thornton, Tyler Zeller

Players Subtracted: Kris Humphries, Jerryd Bayless

Boston Celtics: 2014 NBA Draft top 3 targets for 6th pick and 17th pick

Next Thursday Night on ESPN is the 2014 NBA Draft. This is the team I am waiting to see what they do. I believe they will trade the picks for Kevin Love or Carmelo Anthony. Let's say they don't trade the picks though. Here are the top 3 players I would target with the 6th pick, and then the top 3 I would target with the 17th pick.

Top 3 players to target with the 6th pick

Julius Randle- Randle is a good rebounder who also has a good mid range jump shot. I'm going to make a bold prediction in saying this guy will eventually become a 20 point and 10 rebound per game kind of player. If Randle starts I'm going to make a bold prediction of Randle averaging 13 points and 8 rebounds in his rookie season. I would have no problem if Randle was selected with the 6th pick. How do you feel about Julius Randle?
Aaron Gordon- High energy athletic power forward, who I feel will be exciting and entertaining to watch. Reminds me of Denver Nuggets power forward Kenneth Faried. If Randle were gone before the 6th pick, I think taking Gordon would be awesome.
Zach LaVine- This combo guard could take over if Rondo becomes injured, or could play at the two. I don't know what the Celtics are going to do with Avery Bradley yet. LaVine could become like another Russell Westbrook, or become a complete bust. I really don't know. LaVine has a lot of athleticism, and as a Celtics fan would be fun to watch.

Top 3 Players to target with the 17th pick

James Young- Kentucky shooting guard James Young, I believe could provide some good scoring at the shooting guard spot off the bench. Young might possibly become a starter if Avery Bradley isn't resigned by the Celtics. Young can score in various ways. To win in basketball you have to not only be able to play defense, but put some points on the board. Young I believe can provide that. Young could become a great 6th man like Jamal Crawford.
Tyler Ennis- Ennis could still possibly be on the board with the 17th pick. Tyler Ennis is a coachable player who could be a great backup, or a solid replacement starter if Rajon Rondo were to go down with an injury. Ennis attention to detail is what makes me high on him. If not the Celtics could be a great backup on some other team. I think they should select either Young or Ennis with the 17th pick.
Shabazz Napier- I liked what I seen in the tournament of Shabazz. Unselfish player who gets his teammates involved and can also score. If the Celtics didn't go with Young or Ennis, I'd be happy with Napier. What are your feelings if the Celtics selected Napier with the 17th pick?

Jeff Green scored 27: Kris Humphries achieves a double-double to help Boston Celtics defeat Detroit Pistons

I am a huge Boston Celtics fan. I do love other teams as well. The Celtics are my favorite which is why I hope they draft Jabari Parker out of Duke. The Boston Celtics defeated the Detroit Pistons 118-111. Jeff Green lead the way for Boston with 27 points, 3 rebounds and 2 blocks. Kris Humphries achieved a double-double. Humphries scored 20 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Kelly Olynyk added 18 points and 6 rebounds in almost 18 minutes off the bench. Jerryd Bayless scored 15 points, 4 assists and 4 rebounds. Jared Sullinger added 14 points and 8 rebounds. Rajon Rondo added 11 points, 18 assists and 3 steals. My favorite current Celtics players are (Rajon Rondo, Jeff Green, Brandon Bass, Kris Humphries and Jared Sullinger). Who are your favorite Celtics players today? What did you like about this game? What did you dislike? For the Detroit Pistons three players acquired double-doubles in this game. Josh Smith lead the way with 28 points, 11 rebounds and shot 3 of 6 from downtown. Greg Monroe scored 22 points, 14 rebounds and had 4 assists in the game. Underrated big man Andre Drummond scored 18 points and 22 rebounds. Will Bynum added 18 points off the bench in almost 22 minutes of action. Brandon Jennings added 14 points and 7 assists. Jeff Green scores 29 to lead Celtics to win over Bucks

The Boston Celtics are currently struggling this season. They came into this game with a 18-34 record. I look for the Celtics to be in the lottery. The Boston Celtics could possibly land a top 3 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. Last night the Boston Celtics defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 102-86. Jeff Green lead the way with 29 points and 3 assists. Rookie Kelly Olynyk achieved a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Jared Sullinger who is surprising me also added a double-double. Sullinger scored 13 points, 10 rebounds and had 4 blocked shots in the game. Drafted out of my home state of Missouri, point guard Phil Pressey added 13 points and 6 assists. The Boston Celtics improved to 19-34 with the win over the Milwaukee Bucks who struggle to try and win their 10th game of the season. For the Milwaukee Bucks Brandon Knight lead the way with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Gary Neal added 17 points. Neal shot 6 of 11 from the field in 18 minutes and 55 seconds of playing time. Jared Sullinger's double-double leads Celtics to win over Timberwolves

What do you think of Jared Sullinger? Has he improved his game? Last night against the Minnesota Timberwolves, power forward Jared Sullinger obtained double-double status. Sullinger scored 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists to lead Boston Celtics to a 101-97 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Avery Bradley scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Jordan Crawford added 15 points, 4 assists and 4 rebounds. With the win, The Boston Celtics improve to 12-14. For the Minnesota Timberwolves, Kevin Love lead with a double-double. Love scored 27 ponits and 14 rebounds. Nikola Pekovic scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Dante Cunningham added 12 points and 6 rebounds. Jose Juan Barea added a double-double off the bench. The Celtics blow out the Knicks by 41 points

Say what you will, the Eastern Conference is really bad this season. When only three teams (Indiana Pacers, Miami Heat and the Atlanta Hawks) are above .500 there's something serious wrong. The Atlantic Division is just plain awful. This was a division rival so you know that one of these teams will get the chance to possibly creep up closer to .500. The Boston Celtics defeated the New York Knicks by a whopping 41. The final score was 114-73. Jordan Crawford lead the way for Boston with 23 points, 7 assists and shot 6 of 12 from three point range. Jared Sullinger scored 21 points, 3 rebounds and shot 9 of 13 from the field. Jeff Green scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Brandon Bass added 16 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Avery Bradley achieved double-double status with 13 points and 10 rebounds. The win for the Boston Celtics improves their record to 10-12. The Celtics are first place in the Atlantic Division. For the New York Knicks their are only two players even worth mentioning in this game. Carmelo Anthony who scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Melo didn't have a good night from the field shooting 5 of 15. Amare Stoudemire played almost 21 minutes of action. Amare scored 17 points and shot 5 of 7 from the field. 60 percent field shooting helps Boston to fourth straight win

The Boston Celtics started the season 0-4. Last night they played the Orlando Magic. Boston won its fourth straight game to move into a first place tie with the Philadelphia 76ers. Boston defeated the Orlando Magic 120-105 on sixty percent field goal shooting. Avery Bradley lead the Celtics pack with 24 points on 10 of 15 shooting from the field. Jordan Crawford achieved a double-double with 16 points and 10 assists. Rookie center Kelly Olynyk scored 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. Jeff Green added 16 points. For the Orlando Magic Arron Afflalo lead the way with 18 points, 7 assists, and 4 rebounds. Rookie two guard Victor Oladipo scored 17 points off the bench. Incredible center Nikola Vucevic had another double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Maurice Harkless added 12 points and 5 rebounds. The Orlando Magic shot over 45 percent from the field which to me isn't too bad. The problem I found was they turned the ball over 18 times to Boston's 13 turnovers. Boston stays alive with overtime win over the Knicks

Its a good thing the Boston Celtics pulled out a 97-90 win in overtime over the New York Knicks or their season would have been over. The New York Knicks just have been amazing in this series over the Boston Celtics with amazing defense. Bostons win was lead by Paul Pierce who scored 29 points, had 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Jeff Green scored 26 points and had 6 rebounds. Jason Terry added 18 points off the bench. Kevin Garnett added a double double with 13 points and 17 rebounds. For the New York Knicks who came close to sweeping Boston their leading scorer was Carmelo Anthony who scored 36 points and had 7 rebounds. Raymond Felton scored 27 points ,4 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Iman Shumpert achieved a double double by scoring 12 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. Thank you for reading my NBA Blog. Celtics win over Pistons clinches playoff spot

The Boston Celtics last night won over the Detroit Pistons 98-93 to clinch a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Boston right now sits currently in the 7th seed and here is the records of the top nine teams in the eastern conference listed below. Miami 58-16 - New York 48-26 10 GB Indiana 48-27 10 1/2 GB Brooklyn 43-31 15 GB Atlanta 42-34 17 Chicago 40-33 17 1/2 GB Boston 39-36 19 1/2 GB Milwaukee 36-38 22 GB Philadelphia 30-44 28 GB The first seven teams have clinched a playoff spot and Milwaukee needs 3 wins or Philadelphia loses three games to clinch the 8th spot. Last night against the Pistons Jeff Green lead the Celtics in scoring with 34 points and 6 rebounds. Paul Pierce scored 17 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds. Brandon Bass 17 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks. Congratulations to the Boston Celtics for making the 2013 NBA Playoffs. It's looking like Boston more than likely will play New York or Indiana in the first round. In the game for the Detroit Pistons Greg Monroe lead and had a double double. Avery Bradley 22 points and other Celtics helps Celtics defeat the 76ers

The Boston Celtics at one point were 20-23. Since Rajon Rondo went down with an injury the Celtics are 12-4. Avery Bradley last night led the Boston Celtics in scoring with 22 points on 10 out of 15 shooting. Bradley and other Boston Celtics players defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 109-101. Bradley not only scored 22 points he added 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Paul Pierce got a double double. Pierce scored 18 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Pierce was a perfect 4 out of 4 from three point range. Kevin Garnett (KG) also added 18 points. Jeff Green scored 16 points off the bench. Since Rondo has been down the Celtics have stepped it up with scoring and great ball movement. I encourage you and wanted to give my readers the opportunity to buy a jersey from this blog. Jeff Green 31 points help Boston Celtics beat the Phoenix Suns

Jeff Green was shooting very well from the field last night against the Phoenix Suns. Green shot 11 out of 14 from the field and scored 31 points to help the Boston Celtics defeat the Phoenix Suns 113-88. Green also pulled down 7 rebounds. Bench player Chris Wilcox was also very impressive. Wilcox shot 7 out of 9 from the field to score 14 points and pulled down 8 rebounds. Jason Terry and Avery Bradley each added 13 points. Congratulations to the Boston Celtics on the win.

The Phoenix Suns top player and scorer was Goran Dragic. Dragic got a double double with 19 points and 10 assists. Markieff Morris added 11 points. The Phoenix Suns are to me having a very bad year. The Suns need the Los Angeles Lakers to stink it up and not get into the playoffs to have a shot at two lottery picks. I encourage you to buy a Phoenix Suns jersey today. Kevin Garnett plays great and goes off for 28 against the Heat

Kevin Garnett I admit to me is one amazing basketball player. I loved him in his days at Minnesota. Well now and for the past few years now Kevin Garnett (KG) has played for Boston. He has a ring in 2008 when they beat the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals. Well tonight Kevin Garnett scores 28 points and pulls down 18 rebounds to help Boston Celtics beat the Miami Heat 97-81. Celtics now trail the Heat 2-1. Paul Pierce added 27 points , 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Ray Allen added 15 points , 4 assists and 3 rebounds. Delonte West added 11 points off the bench. For the Miami Heat Dwyane Wade led with 23 points , 7 assists and 6 rebounds. Mario Chalmers added 17 points off the bench. Lebron James scored 15 points pulled down 7 rebounds and had 4 assists. Boston Celtics sweep the New York Knicks under the rug and take the series.

I actually thought that the New York Knicks would at least win one possibly two games against the Boston Celtics. Then again I should have realized that the Knicks aren't as good defensively as the Boston Celtics are. Boston Celtics defeated the New York Knicks 101-89 to sweep the New York Knicks 4-0. Kevin Garnett (KG) led with a double double scorign 26 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Rajon Rondo added 21 points, 12 assists and 5 rebounds. Ray Allen added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Glen (Big Baby) Davis added 14 points and 5 rebounds off the bench. As for the New York Knicks Carmelo Anthony (Melo) led the Knicks with 32 points, 9 rebounds. Amare Stoudemire ( Amare) added a double double with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Anthony Carter added 11 points and 5 rebounds off the bench. Congratulations to the Boston Celtics for taking the series from the New York Knicks. I gotta give the New York Knicks credit for something though at least they made the playoffs and congrats to them for that. Paul Pierce and Ray Allen combine for 70 points to help Celtics take 3-0 lead over Knicks

Could the Boston Celtics possibly sweep the New York Knicks? That is a question that will be answered on Sunday. I think the way they are playing the Knicks it's possible. Paul Pierce and Ray Allen combined for 70 of Boston Celtics 113 points to help the Celtics take a 3-0 lead over the New York Knicks. Paul Pierce led with 38 points on 14 of 19 shooting. Ray Allen added 32 points and hit eight three pointers. Rajon Rondo added a triple double with 15 points, 11 rebounds and 20 assists. Impressive win for the Boston Celtics as they beat the New York Knicks 113-96. Celtics offensive was on tonight as they shot over 50 percent from the field, 58 percent from three point range and 88 percent from the free throw line. As for the New York Knicks Shawne Williams led with 17 points, Carmelo Anthony added a double double with 15 points and 11 rebounds and Toney Douglas added 15 points.

Boston Pulls off another close win again to take game 2.

This Boston and New York series has been exciting so far and have had some nailbiters. Boston again barely pulls off another close win again to take game 2 by beating the New York Knicks 96-93. Rajon Rondo went off and scored 30 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds. Paul Pierce added 20 points and 5 rebounds. Ray Allen added 18 points and was a perfect 4 for 4 from three point range. Kevin Garnett better known as KG added a double double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. For the New York Knicks Carmelo Anthony better known as Melo had a double double scoring 42 points and 17 rebounds while also having 6 assists. Toney Douglas added 14 points 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Jared Jefferies added 10 points and Amare Stoudemire better known as Amare only had 4 points. Amare would have scored more but he suffered a stiff back in the first half. New York Knicks though I will admit are fighting hard and keeping up with the Boston Celtics. This is and has been a great series.

Boston Celtics sneak by the New York Knicks 87-85 to take game 1

With 11.6 seconds left Ray Allen hits a game winning 3 to lift the Boston Celtics over the New York Knicks 87-85 to take game 1. Ray Allen led the way for the Boston Celtics with 24 points 6 rebounds and hit 3 out of 5 from three point range. Paul Pierce scored 18 points. Kevin Garnett added a double double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Jermaine O Neal added 12 points. Rajon Rondo scored 10 points had 9 assists and 9 rebounds. For the New York Knicks Amare Stoudemire led with a double double by scoring 28 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Carmelo Anthony added 15 points and Chauncey Billups scored 10 points. Congratulations to the Boston Celtics for taking game 1 of the NBA Playoffs. The Knicks and the Celtics to me is another exciting matchup because of the stars on each team.
