Triple 21: helps Pacers defeat the Bulls

On Saturday Night the Indiana Pacers defeated the Chicago Bulls 99-90.  This article is named triple 21 because three players lead the way with 21 points.  The three players who scored 21 points are Luis Scola, Solomon Hill and A.J. Price.  Here are the stats for each team.

Indiana Pacers Top 5 Scorers

Luis Scola- 21 points, 11 rebounds, 2 blocks, 10/12 FG, 1/4 FT
Solomon Hill- 21 points, 12 rebounds, 6/14 FG, 8/9 FT, 1/3 3PTFG
A.J. Price- 21 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 7/11 FG, 5/7 FT, 2/5 3PTFG
Chris Copeland- 13 points, 5/11 FG, 3/4 3PTFG
Roy Hibbert- 8 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocks, 4/11 FG

Chicago Bulls Top 5 Scorers

Jimmy Butler- 32 points, 6 rebounds 2 steals, 3/4 FG, 1/2 FT
Kirk Hinrich- 15 points, 7 assists, 2 rebounds, 7/17 FG, 1/4 3PTFG
Pau Gasol- 12 points, 6 rebounds, 3 blocks, 4/15 FG, 4/4 FT
Joakim Noah- 7 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks, 3/4 FG, 1/2 FT
Doug McDermott- 7 points, 3/4 FG , 1/1 3PTFG

Indiana Pacers Thoughts

  1. I have to admit after 11 games, the Pacers are a little bit better than I was thinking they were going to be.  I thought they would be 2-9 after 11 games. They are 4-7 in their first 11 games.  I still feel they will be top 5 in NBA worst teams this season, mainly because of Paul George being injured.
  2. Solomon Hill has filled in solidly for Paul George.  Solomon Hill is currently averaging 12.6 points per game.  While that isn't great, it's not bad either.
  3. When you out rebound the Bulls 46-34 on the glass, that will help you win some games.   Nice to see Roy Hibbert having 7 rebounds in this game.  I hope Hibbert plays like he did the first half of last season, and not the second half.
  4. A.J. Price has been impressive so far.  Getting more playing time can either help or hurt your game.  Could he be the Pacers point guard of the future?  Who knows?  I feel that if this team were to get the number one pick they should at this current time take 6 foot 5 point guard Emmanuel Mudiay.

Chicago Bulls Thoughts

  1. The Bulls are off to a good start at 7-3.  If they can continue to do this, they will win between 56-58 games.
  2. Jimmy Butler seems to improve on the offensive end this season.  If he can keep this up, he will continue to be the Bulls shooting guard.
  3. With or without Derrick Rose this team will go far. I like there chances better with Derrick Rose though.
  4. I want to see D-Rose be healthy all year.  It''s okay if they sit him out for a few games to rest and all.   People knock on D-Rose for being injured.  Injuries do happen to basketball players, plus football, baseball, hockey and almost any other physical contact sport.

Final Thoughts

While all fans want to see their team win games,  their is one part of me thinks the Pacers should not intentionally do it, but stink up the joint, then the other part of me says fight and go for the playoffs.  I'm all for the bust or get into the playoffs mentality though. Being mediocre and getting a 13th-18th pick isn't helpful for a franchise.  Think of Atlanta, Philadelphia until last year and this year, and Phoenix Suns are teams that come to mind.  Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land. Pacers stop 6 game losing streak by beating the Jazz

The Indiana Pacers won their first game of the season, then they lost six in a row. Tonight getting a win against the Utah Jazz who could have gone to .500 had they won, is a start for the Pacers. Maybe this could start boosting the Pacers confidence. I wonder if the Pacers are going to be up and down this year. I feel that Paul George being out is going to drastically hurt this team. I personally believe this team should ( and I'm going to quote Bill Simmons here when I say sandbag). The Pacers could get a top draft pick and be back on top again. The Pacers defeated the Utah Jazz 97-86. Here are the top stats for each team.

Indiana Pacers Top 5 Scorers

Roy Hibbert- 29 points, 5 rebounds, 11/21 FG, 7/7 FT
A.J. Price- 22 points, 8/12 FG, 3/4 3PTFG, 3/4 FT
Solomon Hill- 13 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 5/12 FG, 3/4 FT, 0/1 3PTFG,
Lavoy Allen- 12 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists, 6/12 FG,
Luis Scola- 8 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 4/10 FG

Utah Jazz Top 5 Scorers

Gordon Hayward- 30 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 11/15 FG, 6/6 FT, 2/3 3PTFG
Enes Kanter- 18 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, 7/8 FG, 3/3 FT, 1/2 3PTFG
Derrick Favors- 13 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, 5/13 FG, 3/6 FT
Alec Burks- 9 points, 4 rebounds, 4/13 FG, 1/1 FT, 0/1 3PTFG
Trey Burke- 5 points, 8 assists, 2 rebounds, 2/12 FG, 1/8 3PTFG

Indiana Pacers Thoughts

  1. A.J. Price stepped up nicely tonight against the Utah Jazz. Could he be the point guard this team is looking for? He was on the Pacers before.
  2. It's nice to see some other guys get some playing time like Solomon Hill and Lavoy Allen.
  3. Lavoy Allen is a solid role player.  Tonight he put up some good numbers.  I was impressed with his play tonight. I liked him when he was on the Sixers.
  4. Will Roy Hibbert play like the first half of last season, or the second half?  I'm hoping the first half.

Utah Jazz Thoughts

  1. Gordon Hayward has been beasting lately earning that fat contract he got
  2. What happened to Trey Burke tonight?  He just can't seem to find his shot tonight.  I hope he will improve.  If he continues to struggle the Jazz may have to go a different route at the point guard spot.
  3. Good game from Enes Kanter. I'm not as sold on him as probably many Jazz fans are, but he's young.

Final Thoughts

I think if the Pacers were to stink up the season, they should draft Mudiay or some other point guard who might be at the top of the draft.  What did you think about this win for the Pacers? Send me your comments. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land, the place where you can read articles, send comments and purchase pro basketball merchandise.

I almost thought last night the Miami Heat were going to beat the Indiana Pacers. Lebron was in foul trouble most of this game, which is why he only scored 7 points. The star last night of this game was Paul George. Last night was a Paul George takeover when he scored 21 of his 37 points in the fourth quarter. The Indiana Pacers stay alive by beating the Miami Heat 93-90. Here are the top 5 scorers for the Indiana Pacers and the Miami Heat.

Pacers magic number to clinch top seed is 1: West has great shooting game: Stephenson acquires a triple-double

The Miami Heat and the Indiana Pacers have been battling back and forth for the top seed. Since the Heat lost to the Atlanta Hawks, and the Pacers defeated the Thunder the magic number for the Indiana Pacers to clinch the top seed in the Eastern Conference is one. The Indiana Pacers defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 102-97. Power forward David West lead the way for the Pacers with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 9 of 11 shooting. Paul George achieved double-double stature by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. George shot 3 of 6 from three point land. Point guard CJ Watson scored 20 points on 4 of 7 shooting from downtown. Lance Stephenson achieved triple-double status. Stephenson scored 17 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds and shot 70 percent or (7-10 FG) from the field. Back up center Ian Mahinmi added 11 points and 5 rebounds in 20 minutes of playing time. Pacers fans how do you feel about this win? Will the Pacers clinch the top seed? Pacers win their 50th game of the season: 76ers lose franchise record 21 games in a row

Indiana Pacers and Philadelphia 76ers are two interesting franchises. One team is going for the jugular trying to win an NBA championship, the other team is losing games to get a higher draft pick to land Joel Embiid out of Kansas, Jabari Parker out of Duke, Andrew Wiggins out of Kansas or Julius Randle out of Kentucky. Last night the Indiana Pacers defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 99-90. The Pacers won their 50th game, while the Philadelphia 76ers set a franchise record losing 21 games in a row. Lance Stephenson lead the way for the Pacers with 25 points, 5 rebounds on 8 of 16 shooting. All Star Paul George scored 24 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists, George Hill scored 11 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. The last time Indiana Pacers won 50 games was the 2003-2004 season. The Pacers are having an incredible season. For the Philadelphia 76ers, athletic combo forward Thaddeus Young lead the way with 23 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks. Hollis Thompson scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. I admit I have no idea who Hollis Thompson is. I have never heard of him. Tony Wroten scored 17 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Point Guard and I believe rookie of the year, Michael Carter-Williams added 15 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. What did you think of this game for the Pacers? Will the Pacers be in the 2014 NBA Finals? Who should the Philadelphia 76ers draft in the 2014 NBA draft? Remember Pacers fan you can visit the Paul George store on this blog to purchase George merchandise. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land. Pacers stop four game losing streak by defeating the Boston Celtics

The Indiana Pacers came into this game with a four game losing streak. This was their first four game losing streak of the NBA season. Last night things changed. The Indiana Pacers defeated the Boston Celtics 94-83. David West lead the way for the Pacers with 24 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and shot 11 of 13 from the field. Luis Scola added 11 points and 5 rebounds in 13 minutes of playing time. The Indiana Pacers improve their record to 47-17. Do you think the Indiana Pacers will go to the 2014 NBA Finals? If not what are they missing? Send me your thoughts on that. Also if you are a fan of Pacers superstar Paul George I encourage to visit the new page on here. http://probasketballhoopsland.blogspot.com/p/paul-george-store.html For the Boston Celtics Jared Sullinger lead the way with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Kris Humphries scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Christapher Johnson added 14 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals. Jeff Green scored 12 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Roy Hibbert acquires a double-double: Pacers defeat Bucks 101-96

I think Roy Hibbert is a top 5 center in the NBA. I believe he will be the biggest problem the Miami Heat will have to face. Last night Hibbert achieved a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. Hibbert added 2 blocks and shot 10 of 16 from the field. The Indiana Pacers defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 101-96. Paul George scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. George shot 7 of 15 from the field. Lance Stephenson added 18 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals on 7 of 11 shooting. Do you think the Indiana Pacers will go to the NBA Finals? I know they are deep now at power forward and center position with David West, Luis Scola, Lavoy Allen, Roy Hibbert, Ian Mahinmi and Andrew Bynum. If they do go to the NBA Finals who would you like to see them play? For the Milwaukee Bucks Brandon Knight lead the way with 23 points, 5 assists and 2 rebounds. Khris Middleton scored 22 points, 3 steals and 2 rebounds. O.J. Mayo added 14 points on 5 of 14 shooting. Who would you like to see the Milwaukee Bucks draft in the 2014 NBA Draft? Will the Bucks finish as the worst team in the NBA this season? Send me your thoughts on this. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land. The Best NBA Matchup last night: Heat VS Pacers

The NBA is exciting to watch. You love to sit in the stands at the games, or watch them at home on TV. Last night was the best match up I believe you will see this season. The teams were the Miami Heat going against the Indiana Pacers. The Pacers and the Heat are the two teams, believed to be in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Pacers proved last night why they are the best team in basketball. Indiana defeated Miami 90-84. Roy Hibbert lead the Indiana squad with 24 points, 5 rebounds and shooting an incredible 10 of 15 from the field. David West scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. A superstar in the making, wing player Paul George added 17 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds and 2 steals. The Pacers improve to an NBA best 19-3. I feel that the Pacers are playing out of their mind this season. Indiana wants home field advantage and I don't blame them. Larry Bird has done an amazing job at putting this team to together. For the Miami Heat who drop to 16-6, Lebron James and Dwyane Wade each scored 17 points. King James scored a double-double with 17 points, 14 rebounds and added six assists as well. D-Wade scored 17 points, 6 assists, and six rebounds. Power Forward slash center Chris Bosh added 12 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals. I want to hear from you. What did you think of this game? I don't want to rush the NBA season. I admit though I am interested in watching the Eastern Conference Finals this year. I sense it will be between Coach Frank Vogel and the Indiana Pacers versus coach Eric Spolestra and the Miami Heat. At the moment the only teams in the Eastern Conference who are currently amazing are Indiana, Miami and Atlanta. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land. Pacers improve to 13-1 with 26 points from Paul George and George Hill

The Indiana Pacers are playing incredible this season so far. They remind me of the San Antonio Spurs by playing team basketball. The chemistry to me just clicked in Indiana right now. Paul George and George Hill scored 26 points each to lead the Indiana Pacers to a 98-84 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. The win improves their record to 13-1. Paul George scored 26 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. George shot 10 of 16 from the field, and a perfect 4 of 4 from downtown. Point guard George Hill scored 26 points, 7 assists and had 5 steals in the game. David West added 13 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. For the Minnesota Timberwolves Kevin Love lead with a double-double. Love scored 20 points and pulled down 17 rebounds. Nikola Pekovic also had a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards. Kevin Martin also scored 18. How impressed are you with the Pacers strong start? Is Paul George your MVP this year? Does Indiana have enough to overcome the Miami Heat? If not what are they missing? Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land.

Indiana Pacers: A Team that doesn't get enough credit

Currently 5-0 this season, the Indiana Pacers are a team I feel don't get enough credit. The reason they don't get enough respect is because they are a small market team. Most people talk about the Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, Brooklyn Nets, Miami Heat. President and former Boston Celtics player Larry Bird has done an impressive job with this team. They only have one top ten pick which is Paul George. Everyone else that has been drafted has been a late first rounder, second rounder, or picked up through free agency. When I think of a team only having one top ten pick, I wonder how can that team possibly win a lot of games? The reason I feel that the Pacers win a lot of game is because they play team basketball. Sure, their are one or two guys that can score more than others. The Indiana Pacers play with such energy and intensity on offense and defense. I can't give only credit to the players but to head coach Frank Vogel. Understand the Pacers are not my favorite team in the NBA. I do enjoy watching them play though. So what are your thoughts on the Indiana Pacers? What do you like about this team? Tell me you're thoughts about this. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land.

Pacers improve to 5-0 with win over the Chicago Bulls

Did anyone watch the Bulls and Pacers game on ESPN last night? I watched it. For the first three quarters it felt like two teams on a trivia game show battling each other to try and win a top prize. The fourth quarter was a completely different story. At halftime the Bulls were ahead 43-37. The second half though the Bulls got manhandled by the Pacers 60-37, for a 97-80 victory over the Chicago Bulls to improve to 5-0. The Indiana Pacers are currently the only undefeated team in the NBA right now. Paul George lead all scoring with 21 points. George added 6 rebounds and 3 assists as well. David West obtained double-double status with 17 points and 13 rebounds. West also had 3 steals and shot 8 of 16 from the field. Lance Stephenson scored 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and shot 3 of 6 from downtown. Luis Scola played incredible off the bench. Scola added 12 points and shot 6 of 8 in 15 minutes of play. For the Chicago Bulls Luol Deng and Derrick Rose scored 17 points each. Deng added 3 rebounds and shot 6 of 18 from the field. Rose shot better tonight shooting 6 out of 15 from the field. Bulls fans be patient with D-Rose. I feel he will get better as time goes along. Kirk Hinrich scored 12 points off the bench. Hinrich also had 5 assists, 3 rebounds, and shot 2 out of 2 from three point range. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land. NBA Opening Night Record: 18 Blocks helps Pacers defeat Magic

Tuesday evening the Indiana Pacers played defense on opening night that I haven't seen. The record on opening night for blocks happened. Pacers were blocking shots like crazy. Roy Hibbert lead all Pacers in blocks with 7. All Star Pacers wing player Paul George lead the way for Indiana by scoring 24 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocks, on 8 of 16 shooting from the field. George and the Pacers defeated the Orlando Magic 97-87. Lance Stephenson added 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. David West scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 blocks. Roy Hibbert added 8 points, 16 rebounds and 7 blocks. For the Orlando Magic I thought they played decent. I feel the problem was taking out Andrew Nicholson who lead the Magic with 18 points. Maurice Harkless added 14. Veteran point guard Jameer Nelson scored 12 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds. Number two pick guard Victor Oladipo scored 12 points and shot 4 out of 11 in his NBA debut. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land. I want to hear from you. Send me your comments about this game. What did you like about it? What did you hate about it?

Paul George and the Indiana Pacers shine in win over the Dallas Mavericks.

The Indiana Pacers to me are the most impressive team in basketball. Most of there players were drafted 11th pick or later. Paul George was drafted in the top ten by the Pacers. DJ Augustin was drafted by the Bobcats. Other than George and Augustin every one on the Pacers is late first round to second round. Paul George one of those top ten shined against the Dallas Mavericks last night. George scored 24 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals to help the Indiana Pacers defeat the Dallas Mavericks 103-78. A very impressive 25 point win for the Pacers. Roy Hibbert achieved a double double in this game with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Tyler Hansbrough came close to a double double with 13 points and 9 rebounds. The win for the Pacers keep them in the second seed in the Eastern Conference and a half a game ahead of the New York Knicks. Paul George is a very impressive player who to me is in all star status now and leaning towards superstar status. For The Dallas Mavericks this was a game that was a must needed win to keep up with the Los Angeles Lakers since they lost to the Milwaukee Bucks. Dallas now trails the Los Angeles Lakers by 1 and a half game. Dirk also doesn't get to shave the beard since the Mavs aren't at .500 yet. Dirk Nowitzki lead the way for the Mavericks in scoring with 21 points and had 7 rebounds. Vince Carter added 14 points and 3 steals. Darren Collison scored 10 points and 8 assists. I thank you for reading my NBA Blog.

Indiana Pacers stay alive by five to force game 5

So far no playoff team has fully swept anyone. I had predicted that each team would win at least one game. Well the Indiana Pacers stayed alive and win by five 89-84 to force game 5 and to keep from getting swept by the Chicago Bulls. Danny Granger the most underrated small forward in the league led with a double double by scoring 24 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Roy Hibbert also added a double double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Hibbert also had three blocked shots. AJ Price added 10 points off the bench on 3 of 6 shooting. As for the Chicago Bulls Joakim Noah led the Bulls in scoring and had a double double by scoring 21 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. Luol Deng added 16 points , 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Carlos Boozer had a double double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Derrick Rose (D-Rose) my favorite point guard in the league added 15 points, 10 assists on 6 of 22 shooting. D-Rose passing looked like it was alright but his shooting was off. Congratulations to the Indiana Pacers on there victory and keeping this series alive.

Indiana Pacers clinch a playoff spot with a victory

The Indiana Pacers got a big win tonight. Why was this win so big? This win was big because Indiana clinched there first playoff berth since 2006. The Pacers beat the Washington Wizards 136-112. Danny Granger who I feel is a very underrated player scored 25 points. Rookie Paul George added 23 points, Roy Hibbert who is a candidate in my book for the most improved player of the year award added 16 points. As for the Washington Wizards who are having an awful season there leading scorer was rookie Jordan Crawford who scored 29 points, Andray Blatche added 23 and John Wall had 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Congratulations to the Indiana Pacers for clinching a playoff spot. I really do like the makeup of this Pacers team with having Danny Granger, Roy Hibbert, Darren Collison, Tyler Hansbrough, Paul George, Brandon Rush, James Posey. Even if the Pacers get knocked out in the first round it's just great to get to the playoffs.

Indiana Pacers creep closer to playoff spot with another victory.

The Indiana Pacers have won three games in a row. They are creepin closer to a playoff spot in the eastern conference. They beat the Milwaukee Bucks 89-88. Danny Granger led the way for the Pacers with 17 points , Roy Hibbert added 15 points ,11 rebounds and 4 blocks. Brandon Rush added 12 points off the bench. The Indiana Pacers have impressed me more this year than in previous years. Roy Hibbert is a possibly candidate for most improved player of the year. Hibbert is becoming one of the best centers in the league. I remember watching him when he in college playing for Georgetown and thought give it time Hibbert is going to be a baller. I really like the talent of the Pacers although I don't feel it will overtake the Bulls, Celtics or Heat. In the loss for the Bucks Brandon Jennings led the Bucks in scoring with 20 points, Andrew Bogut added 16 points and Corey Maggette had 13 points off the bench. The loss for the Bucks keeps hurting there chances to try and get back to the playoffs. I thought the Bucks were going to be better than this this season.
