Mayo scores 21 off the bench: Brandon Knight adds 20 to lead Bucks to win over Kings: First half of the season thoughts

I haven't had much of a chance to watch the Milwaukee Bucks on TV or anywhere this season, except when they played the Orlando Magic at the Amway Center.  I'm disappointed that with having a winning record at 30-23 they don't have one all-star on the team in the All-Star game, even though Brandon Knight deserved to be there, they are not on ESPN or TNT.  At 30-23 coach Jason Kidd has done an amazing job and deserves to be in the conversation for Coach of the Year.   I thought he did good in Brooklyn last year, and is doing great this year. The Bucks are 15-10 at home and 8-2 in their last 10 games.  Milwaukee is sitting in 6th place in the Eastern Conference.   I'm impressed with the way they are playing this season even without 2014 NBA Draft number two pick Jabari Parker.   I had Jabari Parker or Nerlens Noel of the Sixers as my top two to win rookie of the year.

Last night the Milwaukee Bucks went up against a struggling Sacramento Kings.  The Bucks defeated the Kings 111-103.  Mayo scored 21 points to lead the way. Brandon Knight added 20 points. Khris Middleton added a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds.  The Bucks have a bunch of solid players who play great together.   Here are the stats for each team.

Bucks send Knicks to their 16th straight loss with win in London

I would like someone to explain to me why this afternoon the New York Knicks and the Milwaukee Bucks played their game today at the O2 Arena in London. I will say this, I don't know what is going on with the New York Knicks but they better find an answer soon. Enough about that. The Milwaukee Bucks are having a solid NBA season behind the solid coaching of head coach Jason Kidd. Brandon Knight is having a solid season this year and should be an all-star.  The only issue would be with how many point guards there are in the Eastern Conference.   The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the New York Knicks 95-79 to send the Knicks to their 16th straight loss, and the Knicks record drops to 5-36.   OJ Mayo lead the way for the Bucks by scoring 22 points off the bench. Point guard Brandon Knight added 20 points, 6 assists and 6 steals.  Giannis Antetokounmpo ( I don't know how to pronounce his name added 16 points and 5 rebounds.  Here are the statistics for each team.

The Milwaukee Bucks are 21-19, and currently sitting in the 5th seed in the Eastern Conference.  I feel that the Bucks are having an impressive season.  The only 4 teams above the Bucks in the Eastern Conference right now are (the Atlanta Hawks, Washington Wizards, Toronto Raptors and the Chicago Bulls).    I pray for the recovery of rookie Jabari Parker.   What are your thoughts on this game? What is your take on this season?  Send me your comments. Battle of the Top 2 Rookies Jabari Parker VS Andrew Wiggins: Bucks win over Timberwolves 103-86: Sanders and Knight score 15 each

I sit there and thought on draft night that the Cleveland Cavaliers should have selected Jabari Parker over Andrew Wiggins. I know what does Cleveland have to do with this, well the trade for Kevin Love. I feel that the Milwaukee Bucks are blessed that Jabari Parker went number 2 to them in the 2014 NBA Draft. Last night it was the two teams that have the top two draft rookies in Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker.

As far as points Andrew Wiggins did better, but as far as teams are concerned, the Milwaukee Bucks got the better end of the deal by beating the struggling Minnesota Timberwolves 103-86.  Larry Sanders and Brandon Knight each scored 15 to lead the way for the Milwaukee Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo better known as the Greek Freak added 13 points. Here are the stats for each team.

I personally enjoyed Jason Kidd as an NBA player when he was on the Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Suns, New Jersey Nets and New York Knicks, I admit I enjoyed his stunt last year as Brooklyn Nets coach, and I admit the soda spill incident was my personal favorite.  I am glad though he is coach for the Milwaukee Bucks and he is doing a good job. I loved his reaction when Larry Sanders almost shot the ball in the wrong basket.  While he is not on the level of Marc Jackson, Doc Rivers or Phil Jackson, he is a good and entertaining coach.  I can see this team if they keep playing solid getting into the playoffs.  I think rookie small forward Jabari Parker will get better, but he is doing solid.  I feel that Jabari doesn't have to lead this franchise because of some of the solid pieces on this team already in place ( Brandon Knight, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Larry Sanders and OJ Mayo are just some that come to mind for me).  Jason Kidd as impressed me as a coach, and Brandon Knight to me is getting better as a point guard. What are your thoughts about this win?  Do you think the Bucks will make the playoffs?  If yes, how far will they advance?  Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land. Brandon Knight scores 20: OJ Mayo adds 17 to lead Bucks to win over Pistons

I've got to admit, The Milwaukee Bucks I figured would be better than last year, I didn't expect this though. Point guard Brandon Knight is playing solid this year. Knight is averaging 18.2 points per game, 6.5 assists per game, 5.1 assists per game, 44% from the field, 39% from three and 86% from free throw line. I think Brandon Knight is underrated. Last night The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Detroit Pistons 98-86. Brandon Knight lead the way for the Bucks with 20 points and 8 assists, OJ Mayo was inserted into the starting lineup and showed his game by adding 17 points on 5 of 10 shooting. Here are the stats for each team.

I think that Jason Kidd is doing a good job as a coach for this young Milwaukee Bucks squad.   Rookie forward Jabari Parker is averaging over 11 and a half points per game and close to 6 rebounds per game.  Jabari is shooting 46% from the field.  I think that Jabari Parker will win rookie of the year.  This Milwaukee Bucks team has some good solid pieces on this squad.  What are your thoughts about this win?  What do you think of the coaching of Jason Kidd?   If Brandon Knight can continue his solid play, I think he should be an all-star consideration.  Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land. Bucks reach .500 while Heat drop 3rd straight game and drop to .500

I think the Milwaukee Bucks are a team I may have underestimated this season.  The Bucks could be one of those Eastern Conference teams who sneak into the 8th seed, maybe even rise as high as 5th or 6th seed.  The Milwaukee Bucks improve to 5-5 by beating the Miami Heat 91-84.  Point guard Brandon Knight has been playing good this year.  Knight lead the way for the Bucks with 20 points and rookie Jabari Parker added 13.  Here are the top stats for each team.

Milwaukee Bucks Top 5 Scorers

Brandon Knight- 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 7/13 FG, 4/7 3PTFG, 2/2 FT
Jabari Parker- 13 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, 5/11 FG, 3/4 FT, 0/1 3PTFG
Larry Sanders- 11 points, 6 rebounds, 5/10 FG, 1/3 FT
Giannis Antetokounmpo- 11 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 4/8 FG, 3/7 FT
Zaza Pachulia- 11 points,  5 rebounds, 2 assists, 5/9 FG,1/1 FT, 0/1 3PTFG

Miami Heat Top 5 Scorers

Mario Chalmers- 18 points, 5 assists, 2 rebounds, 7/13 FG, 3/4 FT, 1/1 3PTFG
Shawne Williams- 13 points, 11 rebounds,  5/9 FG, 3/6 3PTFG
Norris Cole- 11 points, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 rebounds, 4/10 FG, 3/5 3PTFG
Chris Bosh- 10 points, 5 rebounds, 5 blocks, 5 assists, 2/17 FG, 5/8 FT, 1/6 3PTFG
Luol Deng- 10 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists, 3/11 FG, 3/4 FT, 1/3 3PTFG

Milwaukee Bucks Thoughts

1. Brandon Knight has been a good point guard so far. One part of me before the season begin was thinking, Milwaukee go on and stink and then draft Emmanuel Mudiay, but I find Brandon Knight to be a good point guard for the Bucks.
2. Jabari Parker to me is still rookie of the year in my opinion.  Good solid game from him tonight.
3. Nice that Larry Sanders is on this team this year after not being here last year.  Decent game from him.
4. The Greek Freak ( Giannis Antetokonmpo) I'm feeling will win the most improved player award.
5. Nice to see the Bucks at 5-5 in the first 10 games.  If they finish 40-42 this year, that will be an improvement over last year. I think they could.

Miami Heat Thoughts

1. After starting 5-2, they've dropped three straight games and are now currently at 5-5 .500 record.  I feel they are much better than this.
2. Chris Bosh got manhandled tonight going 2 of 17 from the field.  Making 1 of 11 from two point range is not going to help your team win game. This to me was an off night for him. I think he will bounce back.  It happens to the best of really good players.
3. Rookie point guard Shabazz Napier scored 10 points, 5 rebounds, 4/5 FG, 1/2 3PTFG, 1/2 FT, in 25 minutes and 51 seconds of action.
4. Solid outing from Mario Chalmers. Is Lebron being gone helping Chalmers?

Final Thoughts

I think that the Bucks from what I've seen so far can play .500 ball from here on out, and get to the playoffs in the Eastern Conference. What do you think? Send me your comments. Bucks win to send the Grizzlies to their first loss of the season

If you're the Milwaukee Bucks you have to feel really good about sending a 6-0 team to their first loss of the season. Well on Saturday that's just what the Bucks did by beating the Memphis Grizzlies 93-92. The Greek Freak put on a decent outing in this game. Here are the top stats for each team.

Milwaukee Bucks Top 5 Scorers

Giannis Antetokounmpo- 18 points, 2 assists, 2 rebounds, 6/11 FG, 6/7 FT, 0/1 3PTFG
Brandon Knight- 14 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds, 6/11 FG, 1/2 3PTFG 1/2 FT
Jabari Parker- 13 points, 4 rebounds, 6/11 FG, 1/2 3PTFG
Ersan Ilyasova- 11 points, 9 rebounds, 5/10 FG, 1/2 FT, 0/2 3PTFG
OJ Mayo- 9 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds, 4/11 FG, 1/5 3PTFG

Memphis Grizzlies Top 5 Scorers

Zach Randolph- 22 points, 14 rebounds, 7/14 FG, 7/7 FT, 1/1 3PTFG
Marc Gasol- 18 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals, 4/11 FG, 10/11 FT
Courtney Lee- 11 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 3/9 FG, 2/5 3PTFG, 3/3 FT
Tayshaun Prince- 8 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals, 3/10 FG, 2/2 FT, 0/1 3PTFG
Mike Conley- 7 points, 4 assists, 2 steals, 2/8 FG, 3/4 FT, 0/1 3PTFG

Milwaukee Bucks Thoughts

1. I feel this team has some talented players, it's just getting them all to come together.  3-4 though is an okay start for a team that was the worst team in the NBA last year.
2. When the Greek Freak shoots like this, I feel the Bucks increase their chances of winning.
3. I'm waiting for Jabari to have a 30 point game this season. I'm going to predict that he will have three 30 point games this season and will win rookie of the year.
4. A good win over 6-0 Grizzlies now 6-1.  Any win is a good win, but this win has to feel special to coach Jason Kidd and to this Milwaukee Bucks team.

Memphis Grizzlies Thoughts

1. It was bound to happen sometime.  This team has a lot of good to great pieces on it.  The Western Conference is so tough which is why this team struggles getting over the hump.
2. If Marc Gasol stays healthy, this team will be a top 3 in the Western Conference.

What are your thoughts on this win?  Will the Bucks make the playoffs?  Send me your thoughts on this game or any other game. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land. The place where you can read articles, send comments and purchase pro basketball merchandise.

30 Days 30 Grades: Day 17 Eastern Conference Central Division Milwaukee Bucks Off-Season Grade

Welcome to day 17 of my 30 day blog series, "30 Days 30 Grades".  Today I am going to talk about Eastern Conference Milwaukee Bucks.   Here are the four things I'm going to do,  1) Give my Bucks off-season grade,  2) Talk about Milwaukee Bucks players added to the roster whether it be through the draft, trades, free agency or claimed off of waivers,  3) Talk about Bucks players who were subtracted from the roster this off-season and finally,  4)  Give the reason or reasons why I gave the Milwaukee Bucks the off-season grade that I gave them.

Milwaukee Bucks Off-Season Grade:  B

Milwaukee Bucks Players Added: Jabari Parker, Damien Inglis, Johnny O Bryant, Kendall Marshall, Jerryd Bayless, Jared Dudley

Milwaukee Bucks Players Subtracted:  Jeff Adrien, Carlos Delfino, Miroslav Raduljica

Top 3 Best Potential Targets for Milwaukee Bucks in the 2014 NBA Draft

I admit I had to think about this pick for a bit, because I wasn't sure what the Bucks really needed.  A part of me thought best player available, but now I think about it, there are three players I believe are the best players to try and draft with the number 2 pick.

1) Jabari Parker-  I don't know if he'll be selected 1st by the Cleveland Cavaliers or not.  I believe though that Parker will be a scorer who could lead a franchise. Will he be as great as Carmelo Anthony?  I don't know, but he's been compared to Melo according to www.nbadraft.net .  I feel this team needs a leader.  Jabari would be perfect in my opinion.  How would you feel if Jabari Parker was selected with the 2nd overall pick?

2) Andrew Wiggins-  I don't think Wiggins will take over a franchise as good as Jabari will.  I do believe though that Wiggins would be a good player.  I dig Wiggins athleticism.  I wish Wiggins would have more of a killer instinct.  I do believe he could learn to develop one though.  I could be wrong. Remember this is only my opinion.  I believe if Parker is gone, then you take Wiggins.  I think Wiggins will be in a slam dunk contest.  I compare him to Vince Carter and Rudy Gay.

3) Dante Exum-  The 6 foot 6 combo guard is the unknown draft prospect in this 2014 NBA Draft.  I'm not sure what's going to happen with Brandon Knight since he is an unrestricted free agent.  If Knight doesn't get resigned, then I think you could take Exum.  Could Exum be an all star?  I have no idea.  His game has been compared to Penny Hardaway.  What do you think if the Bucks selected Dante Exum?

Brandon Knight scores 30: Ramon Sessions adds 22 to lead Bucks to win over Lakers

The Bucks and the Lakers two teams who will be in the 2014 NBA Draft Lottery. Where both of these teams goes who knows? The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the L.A. Lakers 108-105. Brandon Knight lead the way with 30 points and 3 assists. Ramon Sessions scored 22 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds. Khris Middleton scored 14 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals. Power forward John Henson scored 10 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals. Rookie small forward Giannis Antetokounmpo added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. The win improves the Bucks to 14-58. Who should the Bucks draft in the 2014 NBA Draft? For the Los Angeles Lakers, Jordan Hill lead the way with a double-double. Hill scored 28 points and pulled down 16 rebounds. Nick Young or Swaggy P, whatever you want to call him, scored 17 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds, 2 steals and shot 3 of 8 from three point land. Chris Kaman added 13 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Who should the Los Angeles Lakers draft in the 2014 NBA Draft? Send me your thoughts on this game or any other game. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land. Brandon Jennings 55 point game

I know this was last year but I was impressed by Brandon Jennings scoring 55 points in a game in his rookie season.  Here is the video of that
