Cousins buzzer beater leads to Kings win over Suns

The season started out good for the Kings at 9-5.  Coach Mike Malone was fired later on.  Tyrone Corbin has taken over and this team just hasn't been the same.  I am glad that Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins will be in the 2015 NBA All-Star Game replacing Kobe Bryant.  He deserves it and congratulations to Cousins for a great season.  I admit I'm fearful that if the Kings don't start having some winning seasons, that Cousins will leave when he becomes a free agent.  In spite all of that,  last night with the game tied at 83,  with time about to expire DeMarcus Cousins hits a game winning jumper that bounces around the rim, to lead the Kings to an 85-83 win over the Phoenix Suns.   DeMarcus Cousins lead the way for the Kings with 28 points and 12 rebounds.  Second year player and shooting guard Ben McLemore scored 13 points, Ramon Sessions added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists.   I'm hoping that either the Kings make a strong comeback for the second half of the season, or just try and get a great lottery pick, maybe Texas big man Myles Turner who I think would fit great next to Cousins.

For the Phoenix Suns they are 29-24 and sitting in the 8th spot in the Western Conference.  Isaiah Thomas lead the way for the Suns with 26 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds. Goran Dragic added 13 points, 5 assists and 3 steals.    Here are the double digit scorers breakdown for each team.

Sacramento Kings Double-Digit Scorers

DeMarcus Cousins- 28 points, 12 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 assists, 13/25 FG, 2/4 FT
Ben McLemore- 13 points, 2 assists, 2 blocks, 4/12 FG, 3/8 3PTFG, 2/2 FT
Ramon Sessions- 10 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 4/5 FG, 2/5 FT

Is DeMarcus Cousins the best big man in the NBA? Cousins double-double leads Kings to win over Pelicans

The question I'm wondering and I'm hoping so many people will answer me is this, Is DeMarcus Cousins the best big man in the NBA? I feel he is this season. Having a point guard in Darren Collison who will dish out the ball instead of always looking to score is helpful for Cousins and the rest of the Sacramento Kings. DeMarcus to me is a top 5 center in the NBA today. Last night against the New Orleans Pelicans, DeMarcus Cousins scored 22 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, to lead the Sacramento Kings to a 99-89 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. Omri Casspi who filled in for Rudy Gay also scored 22 points. Ramon Sessions started in place of Darren Collison because of Collison suffering with left quadriceps contusion added 15 points and 6 assists. Here are the stats for each team.

I'm impressed with the start of the Sacramento Kings at 9-5.  I have enjoyed this team since the days of Chris Webber, Peja Stojakovic, Vlade Divac, Mike Bibby, Doug Christie, Bobby Jackson, and Brad Miller.   It's great to see this team do good again.  I love that they gave an extension to Rudy Gay.  There is one part of me that says keep this team the way it is, the other part says trade for a better power forward  ( like Kenneth Faried if Denver would part with him).  The bench is much better to me this year. I'm still not sold on Nick Stauskas but it's early.  What are your thoughts on this 99-89 win? Send me your comments. Happy Thanksgiving to all Sacramento Kings fans.  Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land. DeMarcus Cousins and Darren Collison achieve a double-double: Rudy Gay scores 20 to help Kings win over the Bulls

Did any of you watch the second game on TNT?  The Chicago Bulls got off to a solid start. The Bulls were ahead 29-22 after the first quarter.   This game proves the theory "It's not how you start that matters, It's how you finish".  The Kings finished good outscoring the Bulls in the final three quarters 81-59.  The Sacramento Kings defeated the Chicago Bulls 103-88.  DeMarcus Cousins lead the way with 22 points, Rudy Gay added 20 points. Here are the stats for each team.

Sacramento Kings Top 5 Scorers

DeMarcus Cousins- 22 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists, 9/19 FG, 4/5 FT
Rudy Gay- 20 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 7/11 FG, 5/5 FT, 1/1 3PTFG
Darren Collison- 17 points, 12 assists, 6 rebounds, 5/10 FG, 7/7 FT, 0/1 3PTFG
Omri Casspi- 14 points, 5/5 FG, 4/4 FT
Ben McLemore- 11 points, 4/6 FG, 3/4 3PTFG

Chicago Bulls Top 5 Scorers

Jimmy Butler- 23 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals, 11/18 FG, 1/2 FT, 0/1 3PTFG
Taj Gibson- 12 points, 8 rebounds, 4/9 FG, 4/5 FT
Aaron Brooks- 12 points, 4 assists, 2 rebounds, 5/10 FG, 1/3 FT, 1/2 3PTFG
Mike Dunleavy- 12 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds, 4/13 FG, 2/7 3PTFG, 2/2 FT
Joakim Noah- 10 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists, 5/13 FG

DeMarcus Cousins has achieved 9 double-doubles this season.  Cousins is tied with Orlando Magic center Nikola Vucevic in double-doubles.   The Kings shot 51 percent from the field and 66 percent from three point land.  I'm impressed with how DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay are playing this season. Cousins is seeming to change his attitude which I feel is making this team better.  DeMarcus Cousins to me is a top five center in the NBA today.  What are your thoughts about this game? Send me your comments. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land. Kings improve to 5-1 with double overtime win over Suns

DeMarcus Cousins is having an all-star season so far. Cousins is after six game is averaging 24.2 points per game and 11.8 rebounds per game. Last night the Sacramento Kings won their fifth straight game, by beating the Phoenix Suns in double overtime 114-112. With 1 minute and 7 seconds left in the 2nd overtime, Rudy Gay hits a turnaround jumper to help with the win. The Kings out rebounded the Suns 60-42 on the glass. Here are the top 5 scorers for each team.

Sacramento Kings Top 5 Scorers

DeMarcus Cousins- 25 points, 18 rebounds, 2 blocks, 6/14 FG, 13/14 FT
Darren Collison- 16 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds, 2 steals, 6/13 FG, 4/6 FT, 0/2 3PTFG
Ben McLemore- 15 points, 3 rebounds, 5/9 FG, 4/4 FT, 1/4 3PTFG
Carl Landry- 12 points, 8 rebounds, 6/8 FG
Rudy Gay- 11 points, 9 rebounds, 5/22 FG, 1/6 3PTFG

Phoenix Suns Top 5 Scorers

Eric Bledsoe- 23 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks,  9/19 FG, 4/7 FT, 1/5 3PTFG
Goran Dragic- 22 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 7/17 FG, 7/8 FT, 1/2 3PTFG
Markieff Morris- 16 points, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals, 7/11 FG, 1/2 3PTFG, 1/2 FT
Miles Plumlee- 15 points, 16 rebounds, 7/12 FG, 1/2 FT
PJ Tucker - 15 points, 7 rebounds, 5/11 FG, 3/8 3PTFG, 2/3 FT

Sacramento Kings Thoughts

  1. Can the Kings keep the wins going?  5-1 is an incredible start.  It is looking like DeMarcus Cousins is playing with a better attitude.  I'm impressed with their start
  2. The 5-1 start is the best start since the 1999-2000 season for the Kings
  3. This is the first five game winning streak for the Sacramento Kings since 2006-2007 season
  4. Rookie shooting guard NIk Stauskas scored 9 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 4/7 FG in over 28 minutes of playing time
  5. So far the Kings are the surprise team in the West.  Will they make it to the playoffs?

Phoenix Suns Thoughts

  1. This team is deep with guards ( Eric Bledsoe, Goran Dragic, Isaiah Thomas, Zoran Dragic, Tyler Ennis).  Will one of them end up being traded for a power forward before the deadline?
  2. Getting out rebounded by 18 boards won't help you win games unless you out shoot and out score your opponents.
  3. The Suns are 3-3.   Will the Suns make the playoffs?

Final Thoughts

It's nice to see DeMarcus Cousins try to put his attitude in check. I loved him when he was playing for the University of Kentucky in college.  If Cousins can put up these numbers he deserved to be in the all-star game.  The duo of Rudy Gay and Cousins is helpful. I think that Darren Collison is helpful to this team. Collison doesn't have to score a lot and gets the team more involved than Isaiah Thomas.  Nik Stauskas so far has been a surprise to me, and I really wanted the Kings to draft Noah Vonleh.  Good thing they didn't listen to me considering he's injured.  I don't claim to always be right, and I don't claim to have all the basketball knowledge.  I write all my articles from the prospective of an NBA fan. Sacramento wins 4th straight game behind Cousins double-double. Rudy Gay adds 29

The Sacramento Kings are a surprise right now at 4-1. Will this team continue to find ways to win. The Sacramento win their 4th straight game of the season by defeating the Denver Nuggets 131-109. 240 points scored in this game, talk about an offensive explosion. DeMarcus Cousins lead the way with a double-double, Rudy Gay added 29 points. Here are the stats for each team.

Sacramento Kings Top 5 Scorers

DeMarcus Cousins- 30 points, 11 rebounds, 2 steals, 10/14 FG, 10/11 FT
Rudy Gay- 29 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 9/12 FG, 8/10 FT, 3/3 3PTFG
Carl Landry- 18 points, 4 rebounds, 4/6 FG, 10/10 FT
Omri Casspi- 11 points, 6 rebounds, 4/7 FG, 3/3 FT
Darren Collison- 10 points, 8 assists, 4/9 FG, 1/4 3PTFG, 1/3 FT

Denver Nuggets Top 5 Scorers

Randy Foye- 19 points, 2 assists, 2 rebounds, 7/11 FG, 3/5 3PTFG, 2/2 FT
Ty Lawson- 13 points, 9 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, 3/7 FG, 7/9 FT
Wilson Chandler- 13 points 2 rebounds, 5/12 FG, 3/6 3PTFG
Darrell Arthur- 11 points, 3 assists, 4/7 FG, 2/5 3PTFG
Javale McGee- 9 points, 2 rebounds, 3/5 FG, 3/4 FT

Sacramento Kings Thoughts

  1. Congratulations to the Sacramento Kings on their 4-1 start. I hope they can keep this up. DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay are both top 10 in scoring right now.  If you don't believe me go to www.nba.com and check out the stats.
  2. For the first time since 2001-2002 the Kings are 4-1
  3. The Sacramento Kings haven't been to the postseason since 2007.  Could this be the year they get in the playoffs?  If they can play ,600 ball from here on out, they'll get in.  I'm starting to think this is the surprise team in the West.
  4. As long as Cousins and Gay are scoring,  you have to keep both of them.
  5. Carl Landry impressive with his 18 points off the bench.  I feel that he is one of the best power forwards on this team.
  6. The Darren Collison pickup surprised me.  He is good.  I think he's the best point guard since Isaiah Thomas.  I feel this team is better this year though.  You don't have Isaiah Thomas, Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins trying to get their's.  You can run the offensive through DeMarcus Cousins or Rudy Gay

Denver Nuggets Thoughts

  1. I feel a healthy Ty Lawson will help this teams chances to get to the playoffs
  2. Denver has a lot of depth on their team, but to me no real all-star ( the closest to me is Ty Lawson)
  3. Denver must play better defense,  to give up 131 points is sad
  4. Kenneth Faried didn't even crack the top 5 in scoring for the Nuggets.  If you're going to get paid the big bucks you must produce most nights.  I'm sure though this was just a bad night for him

Final Thoughts

30 Days 30 Grades: Day 26 The Sacramento Kings Off-Season Grade

Welcome to day 26 of my 30 day blog series "30 Days 30 Grades".  Today I am going to be talking about NBA team Pacific Division Sacramento Kings and their off-season grade.  There are four things I am going to do in this article, 1) Give my Kings off-season grade,  2) Give a list of players added to the Sacramento Kings roster, whether it be through the draft, free agency, trade, claimed off of waivers or undrafted,  3) Give a list of players subtracted from the roster and finally, 4) Give the reason or reasons why I give the Sacramento Kings the off-season grade that I gave them.

Sacramento Kings Off-Season Grade:  C+

Sacramento Kings Players Added:  Darren Collison, Ramon Sessions, Nik Stauskas, Eric Moreland, Sim Bhullar, Alex Oriakhi, Scotty Hopson, Alonzo Gee

Sacramento Kings Players Subtracted:  Isaiah Thomas, Aaron Gray, Quincy Acy,  Travis Outlaw, Wayne Ellington, Jeremy Tyler, Jason Terry

Top 3 Players for Sacramento Kings to target with the 8th pick

The Sacramento Kings have the 8th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft on Thursday Night.  What three players should they target?  I believe these are the three players they should target.

  1. Julius Randle-  Putting Randle next to DeMarcus Cousins would be entertaining to watch.  Randle and Cousins could be a great rebounding PF and C combo on the glass.   I would have no problem if Randle were the starting PF for the Sacramento Kings.  I love Randle's rebounding and midrange shooting.   I'll go as far to say I believe Randle will average 13 points and 8 rebounds in his rookie season.
  2. Aaron Gordon-  Gordon is a high energy player.  I think he could light a fire under some of the other players on the Kings.  Gordon and Cousins banging down low would be exciting and thrilling to watch, if the Kings doesn't select Julius Randle.
  3. Marcus Smart-  I'm only suggesting Smart, because I don't know if the Kings are going to resign 60th pick point guard Isaiah Thomas.  I would have said Dante Exum here, but I believe he will  be gone before the 8th pick.  Smart to me is going to be the second best point guard in this draft.

The best ways the Kings can fix their problems for next season: Rudy Gay scores 31: Rookie Ray McCallum shines again by adding 27:

I think the Sacramento Kings have a talented team. The problem is putting it all together. I don't see why this team doesn't start Derrick Williams at the power forward spot. You could right now at the moment have a five of (DeMarcus Cousins, Derrick Williams, Rudy Gay, Ben McLemore and Ray McCallum) I think the Kings should get a new coach next season. Some of my choices would be Lionel Hollins, Avery Johnson, George Karl, Jerry Sloan). The second way this team could fix their problems is to draft the right player next season. Who should that player be? (Jabari Parker out of Duke, Andrew Wiggins of Kansaa, Marcus Smart of Oklahoma State, Noah Vonleh of Indiana, Julius Randle of Kentucky or some other athlete). If they get a different coach and the right player in the draft, I believe that the Kings could be a playoff team next season. What do you think?

The Sacramento Kings defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 107-102. Athletic small forward Rudy Gay lead the way with 31 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and shot 50 percent for the game (12-24 FG) . Rookie guard Ray McCallum played great again. McCallum scored 27 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds and shot 12 of 22 from the field. DeMarcus (Boogie ) Cousins achieved double-double status. Cousins scored 20 points, 10 rebounds and had 8 of 14 shooting from the field. Rookie shooting guard Ben McLemore scored 12 points and 4 rebounds. Travis Outlaw added 11 points and 7 rebounds in 32 minutes off the bench. What did you think of this game for the Kings? How impressed are you with rookie Ray McCallum? Send me your thoughts on that.

For the Los Angeles Lakers, Jodie Meeks lead the way with 21 points, 3 rebounds and shot 2 of 6 from three point land. Jordan Hill scored 18 points, 15 rebounds and had 4 blocked shots in the game. Nick Young (Swaggy P) scored 17 points and shot 4 of 8 from three point land. Kent Bazemore added 14 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals. Who should the Los Angeles Lakers draft in the 2014 NBA Draft? Send me your thoughts on this game or any other game. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land. Cousins and rookie McCallum achieve a double-double to help Kings win over Pelicans

I love me some DeMarcus (Boogie) Cousins. I think he is a top 5 center in the NBA today. 2013 NBA Draft 36th pick point guard Ray McCallum is showing some flashes lately. Last night the Sacramento Kings defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 102-97. Big man DeMarcus Cousins lead the way for the Kings with 35 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocked shots and had 13 of 18 shooting. Rookie point guard 36th pick Ray McCallum scored 22 points, 10 assists, 2 steals and 2 rebounds. Rudy Gay scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Rookie shooting guard Ben McLemore added 14 points, 5 rebounds and had 5 of 11 shooting from the field. Who should the Sacramento Kings draft in the 2014 NBA Draft? Will the Kings be a playoff team in the 2014-2015 NBA Season? Send me your comments about this.

For the New Orleans Pelicans, shooting guard and three point shooter Anthony Morrow lead the way with 23 points, 3 rebounds and shot 4 of 6 from downtown. Top ten NBA power forward Anthony Davis scored 22 points, 8 rebounds, 4 blocks and 4 assists. Tyreke Evans added 15 points, 4 assists, 2 steals and 2 rebounds. If the Pelicans do land a top pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, who should they take? I think they could take a risk on Joel Embiid out of Kansas. I say that because you have Jrue Holiday at point guard, Eric Gordon at shooting guard, Tyreke Evans could be your small forward, and Anthony Davis at power forward. Imagine Pelicans fans if they did draft Embiid and he turned out to be a great NBA center next to Anthony Davis. Send me your thoughts on this thought or any other thoughts. DeMarcus Cousins achieves a double-double: Three players for the Kings score at least 20 to help Kings win over Bucks

I think the Sacramento Kings will be a more improved NBA team next season. I know many would say they did this against the worst team Milwaukee Bucks. Sometimes it takes a season or two for talent to click. The Sacramento Kings defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 124-107. Three players for the Kings scored at least 20 points. DeMarcus (Boogie) Cousins lead the way with 32 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Point guard Isaiah Thomas scored 30 points, 8 assists and 3 rebounds. Athletic small forward Rudy Gay scored 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Rookie shooting guard Ben McLemore added 15 points, 4 rebounds and shot 3 of 8 from three point land. Do you believe the Sacramento Kings will be a better team next season? What player would you like to see them draft in the 2014 NBA Draft? For the Milwaukee Bucks, shooting guard O.J. Mayo lead the way with 21 points and 4 assists. Power forward and three point shooter Ersan Ilyasova scored 14 points and 4 rebounds. Jeff Adrien scored 13 points and 4 rebounds. Ramon Sessions added 13 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds in 20 minutes of playing time. Who should the Milwaukee Bucks draft in the 2014 NBA Draft? Send me what would you do if they landed the first pick? the second pick? the third pick? or at the worst right now fourth pick? Kings fans what did you think about this game? DeMarcus Cousins double-double leads The Kings to win over Pelicans

Is DeMarcus Cousins one of the most underrated big men in the game? I loved his days in Kentucky. Last night against the struggling New Orleans Pelicans, DeMarcus Cousins achieved a double-double by scoring 23 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. The Sacramento Kings defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 96-89. Point guard Isaiah Thomas scored 22 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds. Athletic wing man Rudy Gay scored 14 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists. Ben McLemore added 10 points, 4 rebounds and shot 3 of 4 from the field. I think with Marcus Thornton being traded to the Brooklyn Nets it gives McLemore some playing time. Who would you like to see the Sacramento Kings draft in the 2014 NBA Draft? Should they take Joel Embiid with the 1st pick and slide Cousins over to the Power forward position? What do you think about this? For the New Orleans Pelicans, Ex-Kings player Tyreke Evans scored 27 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists and shot 8 of 14 from the field. Brian Roberts scored 15 points and had 2 assists. Anthony Davis scored 13 points, 4 rebounds and had 2 assists. Eric Gordon scored 10 points, 2 assists, shot 4 of 9 from the field and 2 of 4 from three point land. Should the Pelicans try to lose the rest of their games and try to land in the top 5? How much do you miss Jrue Holiday on the floor? Send me your thoughts on this. Kings get overtime win over Knicks behind Jimmer's 24 points

Jimmer Fredette I'm wondering where he has been? I was waiting to see an incredible game from him. Yesterday I finally got what I was waiting for. Fredette scored 24 points to lead the Sacramento Kings to a 106-101 win over the New York Knicks. Jimmer shot 9 of 14 from the field, and 6 of 8 from the three point line. Isaiah Thomas scored 20 points, 7 assists and 2 steals. Rudy Gay scored 20 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. DeMarcus Cousins added a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. Who do you think the Sacramento Kings should draft in the 2014 NBA Draft? How impressed were you with Jimmer's 24 points? For the New York Knicks, Carmelo Anthony lead with 36 points and 11 rebounds. Melo shot 5 of 11 from three point land. Amare Stoudemire scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Stat shot 10 of 15 from the field. Tyson Chandler added 17 points and 11 rebounds. Do you think the New York Knicks will turn things around? Will the Knicks be in the playoffs? Send me your thoughts on this. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land.

Kings win 3rd straight game with help from Thomas,Gay and Cousins

The Sacramento Kings have been struggling this season. They last night played against the Cleveland Cavaliers, and won their 3rd straight game by blowing out the Cavaliers 124-80. Point guard and 60th pick Isaiah Thomas, lead the way with 26 poitns and 6 assists. Rudy Gay scored 20 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks. DeMarcus Cousins added 16 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. I really like the makeup of this new Kings team since the acquisitions of Derrick Williams and Rudy Gay. It will take some time but I think this team will come together. If the Kings could tank, or I would rather use Bill Simmons word sandbagging then they should. Drafting Randle or Smart would be great for this team. For the Cleveland Cavaliers, CJ Miles lead with 14 points, on 5 of 8 shooting and a perfect 3 of 3 from downtown. Luol Deng added 12 points and 5 rebounds. What do you think of the Kings 3 game winning streak? I know it's early but, who would you like to see them draft next season? I believe the Kings will turn around and be back into the playoffs within the next two seasons. What do you think? Send me your thoughts on this. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land. Stay tuned for soon I have something special for the Kings, Cavaliers and all of the other 28 NBA Teams.

Cousins and Williams score over 30 to help Kings defeat the Mavericks

The Sacramento Kings have struggled this season. They came into this game with a 5-13 record and are 14th in the Western Conference. Last night though the Kings put on an incredible basketball performance lead by DeMarcus Cousins, and new player to the team in only his second game Derrick Williams. Cousins achieved double-double stature by scoring 32 points and pulling down 19 rebounds. Derrick Williams scored 31 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals and shot 12 of 16 from the field. Williams wasn't getting enough playing time to me in Minnesota. Now he is I believe going to get more time on the court. The Sacramento Kings defeated the Dallas Mavericks 112-94. Point guard and 60th pick, Isaiah Thomas also had a double-double. Thomas scored 24 points and had 12 assists. The win for the Kings improves their record to 6-13, and it's possible they may add Rudy Gay to the team soon. Picture a possible starting five of Cousins, Williams, Gay, McLemore, Vasquez. A nice starting five to me. For the Dallas Mavericks Monta Ellis lead the way with 21 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds and 2 steals. Dirk Nowitzki added 18 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks. The Mavericks drop to 13-9. Dallas is currently sitting in the 7th seed in the Western Conference, and only 5 games back of the hot Portland Trailblazers. Tell me what did you think of this game? Sacramento King fans how impressed were you with the performance of Cousins and Williams? Will you be excited if they add Rudy Gay to the lineup? I want to hear from you on your opinion of this game. Thornton's 24 bench points lead Sacramento Kings to a 107-86 victory over the Brooklyn Nets

I am disappointed with the play of Ben McLemore last night. He only played 14 minutes, and shot a horrible 1 out of 8 from the field for 2 points. So to come in his place was veteran two guard Marcus Thornton. Thornton I felt played great. He scored 24 points, pulled down 4 rebounds, shot 10 of 19 from the field, and shot 4 of 9 from downtown. Thornton's 24 points helped the Kings defeat the Nets 107-86. 60th pick point guard, Isaiah Thomas scored 19 points, 6 assists, and pulled down 6 boards. Greivis Vasquez obtained double-double status with 17 points and 12 assists. Center DeMarcus Cousins came close to a double-double with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Cousins also had 3 blocks. For the Brooklyn Nets Brook Lopez lead the way with 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 blocks. Deron Williams scored 13 points, and 7 assists. Shaun Livingston the six foot seven point guard added 13 points off the bench. Paul Pierce added 12 points and 9 rebounds. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land. How impressed were you with Thornton? Send me your thoughts on this game whether you're a Kings or Nets fan.

Sacramento Kings and the 7th pick

The Sacramento Kings I feel have some pieces in place. They have DeMarcus Cousins, Jason Thompson, Omri Casspi and Tyreke Evans. I feel this team needs a point guard that is better than Beno Udrih. Here are a list of some of the players I feel that the Kings should take and these are not necessarily in any order either.

1) Kemba Walker- I know this guy may possibly wreck the chemistry of this team. I do feel though that he will be a good scorer. I just hope he doesn't do a Russell Westbrook and jack up 30 shots a game unless of course he makes 15 to 20 of them. I do like his quickness though. I don't really like Udrih as a starting point guard and would rather see Udrih come off the bench or be traded for a better one.

2) Jan Vesely- I know what your thinking Vesely again? Good grief. I feel Vesely will be better than Donte Greene is. Vesely can play either forward position and can score.

3) Enes Kanter- not likely he will be here but could be a good pick. I personally feel that Jason Thompson would be more like a Lamar Odom off the bench. Kanter could help in the post with DeMarcus Cousins.

4) Alec Burks- a 6 ft 6 combo guard who could help. I know what your thinking there is already one 6 ft 6 guard. Well I don't feel that Burks would be as bad as Walker and I think would share the ball with Tyreke.

5) Kawhi Leonard - a solid defender who plays with high energy. I think he could fit well here and even possibly right now as a sixth man coming off the bench to bring energy. Can give Omri Casspi a rest.

those are the five players I feel the Kings should take. Another possibly I heard is that the Kings were trying to go for Raymond Felton. Im wondering if the Kings trade the pick and maybe Donte Greene and Beno Udrih for Felton. Im not really sure who the Kings should trade as far as a player to maybe make the contracts match. I would like to see the Kings improve there team and I feel the right player could really help this team out.
