Nikola Vucevic double-double leads to Magic winning over Knicks: The First half of the season so far: Thoughts on Next Season

Robbed of being in the 2015 All-Star Game,  and a nice guy. I know this because last Friday's nights game against the Lakers when it was over, I got to meet Orlando Magic reliable double-double machine seven foot center Nikola Vucevic.   I'm proud of the way he's played this season.  The Orlando Magic last night at the Amway Center defeated the New York Knicks 89-83.  Nikola Vucevic scored 28 points and 18 rebounds.  Six foot four two guard Victor Oladipo scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.   At 17-39 I don't want to ride the season off just yet, but I'm one of those that believes you either go all in to make the playoffs, or you and I will quote Bill Simmons here sandbag it.   The fact that we are in the Eastern Conference gives me hope, but at the same time do we really want to be sitting around the 10th-14th pick.  I'm not encouraging for the Orlando Magic to lose on purpose but I think to get in, we are going to have to win at least 35 games which means we will have to go 18-8 in the second half of the season.  Unless Orlando Magic GM Rob Henningan has something up his sleeve I don't see that happening.  I'm all for one more top 5 lottery pick, then next year we go all in. What are your thoughts on this?   Here are the stats for each team.

I know the season isn't over yet, but I'm fired up for next season already, because I'm purchasing season tickets, and going to be starting an Orlando Magic Blog.   I am enjoying this season win or lose.  I don't remember what news channel it was last Friday but I was interviewed about the firing of Jacque Vaughn, and I made the suggestion of Mark Jackson, George Karl or Avery Johnson.   I'm impressed with our selections of Aaron Gordon and Elfrid Payton from the lottery.  If Tobias doesn't get an extension, I'd have no problem with us starting Gordon at the 3.

Oladipo scores 32 points, Vucevic adds his 24th double double of the season to lead Magic to win over Rockets

How many of you were down at the Amway Center tonight in Orlando Florida? I know I was at the game. Coming into the game the Orlando Magic only had a 4-12 record at home. After watching what I witnessed tonight the Orlando Magic are finding their confidence after beating the Chicago Bulls the other night. Tonight they took on the Houston Rockets here in Orlando. Whenever Dwight Howard tonight touched the ball, the boos were so loud it was like hearing the sound of a cat saying meow really loud, I'm kidding. What threw me for a loop in this game was all of a sudden Dwight Howard was making free throws. I wanted to know where in the world was this when he was playing for us. Booing Dwight Howard was exciting although it was harder for me than most fans, because I miss his defensive presence. Dwight Howard wasn't the show tonight though, even though the boos were entertaining, the show tonight was Victor Oladipo with his sensational dunking athletic ability. Victor Oladipo is my favorite player on the Orlando Magic. I will be honest I wanted the Magic to draft Ben McLemore during the 2013 Draft, because I haven't witnessed Oladipo's game. I am glad they drafted Victor Oladipo instead. To me Dipo reminds me of an athletic Dwyane Wade and a solid defender like Tony Allen of the Memphis Grizzlies. Tonight the Orlando Magic finally won their 5th home game of the season by beating the Houston Rockets 120-113. 6 foot 4 shooting guard Victor Oladipo lead the way with 32 points ,6 assists and 6 rebounds. Center Nikola Vucevic scored 25 points and 12 rebounds. Vucevic currently lead the NBA with 24 double-doubles. I was telling some people that Nikola Vucevic deserves to be an all-star this year. So please do me a favor and vote for Vucevic. I know I have. Rookie Elfrid Payton added 15 points and 6 rebounds. Here are the statistics for each team.

Tobias Harris scores 19: Vucevic and O Quinn achieve a double-double to lead Magic to win over Celtics

I wish I could have been at this game, after the disappointment of Sunday night losing to the Philadelphia 76ers. I might have almost had a meltdown after the Orlando Magic were outscored in the 4th quarter 35-15.  The Orlando Magic to me were too relaxed on defense, who knows maybe one of the Celtics players fed the Magic some Nyquil before the 4th quarter started , I'm just kidding.  I think the saving grace of this game is the the Orlando Magic in the first quarter held the Boston Celtics to just 9 points.  The Magic started good but didn't finish good, in spite of that though, the Orlando Magic hold on to beat the Boston Celtics 100-95. Tobias Harris lead the way for the Magic with 19 points and 4 rebounds.  The Orlando Magic big men achieved double-doubles.  Orlando Magic center Nikola Vucevic scored 18 points and pulled down 12 rebounds,  Kyle O Quinn scored 18 points and pulled down 13 rebounds.  Here are the stats for the Orlando Magic and the Boston Celtics.

I've been looking at the stats of Tobias Harris, and I feel they should give him an extension. Tobias Harris is averaging 18.6 points per game, 7.2 rebounds per game, 2.1 assists per game, shooting 47 percent from the field, 39 from three and 80 percent from the line.  I feel that up until the fourth quarter this is a great win for the Orlando Magic. The Return of Oladipo: Tobias Harris achieves double-double to help the Magic win over Bucks

My favorite player on the Orlando Magic is Victor Oladipo. I wish I would have purchase tickets to seen him return. I can't wait to be there on in December when I come to another game. Oladipo reminds me of a cross between Tony Allen and Dwyane Wade. On Friday night not only did Dipo return, but Tobias Harris scored a double-double to help the Orlando Magic defeat the Milwaukee Bucks 101-85. Here are the stats for each team for this game.

Orlando Magic Top 5 Scorers

Tobias Harris- 26 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 10/18 FG, 5/6 FT, 1/3 3PTFG
Nikola Vucevic- 18 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 6/11 FG, 6/8 FT
Evan Fournier- 15 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 5/13 FG, 3/6 3PTFG, 2/3 FT
Victor Oladipo- 13 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 3/10 FG, 6/8 FT, 1/3 3PTFG
Aaron Gordon- 8 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 3/3 FG, 2/2 FT, in 14 minutes and 49 seconds

Milwaukee Bucks Top 5 Scorers

Brandon Knight- 24 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 9/17 FG, 2/8 3PTFG, 4/5 FT
Giannis Antetokounmpo- 19 points, 7 rebounds, 9/15 FG, 0/2 3PTFG, 1/1 FT
John Henson- 10 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 4/5 FG, 2/2 FT
Ersan Ilyasova- 6 points, 3 rebounds, 2/5 FG, 2/2 FT
Jabari Parker- 6 points, 3 rebounds, 2/5 FG, 2/2 FT

Orlando Magic Thoughts

  1. Do you want Tobias Harris to get an extension?  I know that I do.  Impressive double-double and shooting for him this game
  2. So nice for Dipo to return, as many of you know I've been wearing his jerseys and T-Shirts at the games.  He didn't have a good shooting night, but 6 of 8 from the free throw line is good.
  3. Where do you fit in Evan Fournier with Oladipo back now?  Do you go with Fournier at small forward, moving Tobias to power forward?  Have Fournier become our sixth man?  What would you do Magic fans?  I'd like your thoughts on this?
  4. While Aaron Gordon won't win rookie of the year,  he has been a solid rookie so far.   I personally would like to see him start more, but then we paid Channing Frye 8 million a year, so I want to see coach Jacque Vaughn find a way to use Channing Frye more in the offense, getting him open for the three point shots.
  5. Rookie point guard Elfrid Payton only scored 2 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1/5 shooting in over 22 minutes of playing time tonight.
  6. Tobias Harris has 3 double-doubles so far this season in the first ten games.  If he goes at this rate he will have anywhere from 24-26 double-doubles for the season, go on give him the extension Magic,  if not then draft Stanley Johnson out of the University of Arizona.

Milwaukee Bucks Thoughts

  1. I would have liked to see Jabari Parker taken over more in this game. Jabari only took 5 shots in this game.  I'd like to see him take 12-15 shots a game and get his feet wet.  I still believe he will win rookie of the year though.
  2. Good solid performance from point guard Brandon Knight, and wing player Giannis Antetokounmpo better known as the Greek Freak.
  3. At 4-5, so far I feel that Milwaukee is better this year than last year.  If they can win 45-50 percent of their games this year, they can sneak into the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference.

Magic get their first win: Tobias Harris hits game winning shot.

Both the Orlando Magic and the Philadelphia came into the start of this game with both having a record of 0-4.  This game was exciting from beginning until the end.  The Orlando Magic defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 91-89 with the help of Tobias Harris hitting a clutch game winning shot.

Here are the top 5 scorers for both the Orlando Magic and the Philadelphia 76ers

Top 5 Orlando Magic scorers

Tobias Harris- 18 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 turnovers, 8/18 FG, 0/3 3PTFG, 2/2 FT
Nikola Vucevic- 17 points, 5 rebounds, 5 turnovers, 3 assists, 8/16 FG, 1/1 FT
Ben Gordon- 15 points, 2 turnovers, 5/11 FG, 5/6 FT, 0/1 3PTFG
Channing Frye- 13 points, 11 rebounds, 3 turnovers, 2 steals, 5/12 FG, 2/8 3PTFG, 1/1 FT
Evan Fournier- 10 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 4/10 FG, 1/4 3PTFG, 1/1 3PTFG

Top 5 Philadelphia 76ers Scorers

Tony Wroten- 27 points, 9 turnovers, 8 assists, 5 steals, 3 rebounds, 9/16 FG, 5/7 FT, 4/6 3PTFG
Brandon Davies- 20 points, 4 rebounds, 9/11 FG, 1/4 FT, 1/1 3PTFG
KJ McDaniels- 12 points, 3 blocks, 2 rebounds, 5/10 FG, 1/2 3PTFG, 1/1 FT
Alexey Shved- 9 points, 3 assists, 2/9 FG, 4/4 FT, 1/4 3PTFG
Hollis Thompson- 6 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 blocks, 1/5 FG, 1/4 3PTFG, 3/3 FT

Orlando Magic Thoughts

  1. It's nice to see them get their first win, even if it's not against a team who is good right now.  I do believe though that both Orlando and Philly are teams that are on the rise in the next few years.
  2. Tobias Harris hitting that game winning shot,  it was just as good as the game winning slam dunk last year against the Oklahoma City Thunder.  Do you remember that?  I only wish I would have been there in person to seen that.  I saw the highlights and loved it.
  3. Rookie point guard Elfrid Payton scored 8 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals and shot 4 of 8 from the field.   Solid performance from our rookie point guard.
  4. Rookie power forward Aaron Gordon scored 2 points, 5 rebounds and had 2 turnovers in 7 minutes and 29 seconds of action.  I feel Aaron Gordon will get even better.   Can't wait to see him and Victor Oladipo on the court together
  5. So will the Magic make it 2 in a row on Friday?  I hope so.  I'm going to be at the game on Friday, so if you see me feel free to say hi.
  6. Congratulations on the win.  I feel this team will get 30-35 wins this season.

Philadelphia 76ers Thoughts

  1. Rookie big man Nerlens Noel scored 4 points, 3 assists and 2 rebounds on 2 of 4 shooting, in over 17 minutes of action
  2. Nerlens Noel left the game with a sprained left ankle.  I've had one of those.  They hurt but I was better within a week or two.   I'm hoping for the same for Noel.  Noel will provide good competition, if you don't believe me see the block the other night he had against James Harden.
  3. For the first time since the 2001-2002 season the 76ers are 0-5.  I hate the word tanking because that is the word the media is throwing around.   I feel the Sixers are rebuilding.
  4. Besides Orlando Magic, Philly is a team on the rise.  I'm going to make a bold prediction that in the next three years, the Orlando Magic and the Philadelphia 76ers will be in the top 5 in the Eastern Conference.

Final Thoughts

What did you think of this game Magic fans?  How did it feel to get the 1st win of the season?  Will we win the second game on Friday?   Nikola Vucevic didn't have a double double for the first time this year, but Channing Frye took his place. The main thing is Orlando achieved the win.  Send me your thoughts  about this game or any other game. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land. In case you missed it, here is the opportunity to see the game winning shot by small forward Orlando Magic player Tobias Harris.

My First Ever NBA Game : One of the greatest experiences of my life

Last night I went to the home opener at the Amway Center between the Orlando Magic and the Washington Wizards. The energy was there. It was loud and intense which I enjoy. I high-fived a couple of fans when we cut the Washington Wizards lead down to 3 in the 4th quarter. I was trying to tape video from my phone, but then I found it was hard to watch the game and record at the same time, so I admit I watched the game. Aaron Gordon had a great dunk which was one of the things I was praying that would happen. I unfortunately didn't get to catch it on my phone in time, and was going to put it on my blog. Nikola Vucevic is proving why he is worth the contract extension he got. Ben Gordon played last night like he was on the Bulls again. I noticed that when Elfrid Payton went out, and Luke Ridnour came back in we started making comebacks. I wore my Victor Oladipo jersey to the game. I seen many fans wearing Dipo jerseys. I seen one wearing a Ryan Anderson jersey which I admit I miss him, and he killed us the other night for the Pelicans. I admit I was glad I ate before the game, because I was going to get food at the game. It was too pricey for me. The Orlando Magic fans are very respectful that I've noticed. I really had a great experience and can't wait to watch when we play the Minnesota Timberwolves next Friday. I'm going to be at that game. I appreciate the staff at the Amway Center. I have to give a shout-out to one person who helped me with ticket plans Victor Vdawg Rivera. Thank you and I'm excited for seeing at least 6 more games. I even had the opportunity before the game to talk with someone who was a fan of the Washington Wizards. I have no problem associating with someone who isn't a fan of the Magic, because I believe in being objective, and not everyone lives in Orlando. I took some photos and am going to try to share them on Facebook. I am having problems with my phone right now. When I get my phone figured out, you will see my new photos. I hope everyone who is an Orlando Magic fan who was at the game enjoyed the game as much as I did. The game went by fast. To me you know the saying though, time flies when you're having fun, and I was having a great time. I will be at the Timberwolves game next Friday, so if you are at the game, and you see me say hi. I never dreamed in my life that I would get to see an NBA game in person, am thankful and grateful I did. I can't wait to watch more games.   Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land. 2014 NBA Draft: Orlando Magic Top 3 Targets for picks 4 and 12

I've been doing a 2014 NBA Draft projection of  three players for each pick that a certain team could target.  This article is all about the Orlando Magic and the players they should go for with the 4th pick and the 12 th pick.  I want to hear from you.  I want to know what you think.  I admit I don't watch as much college basketball as maybe many of you get to.   Here are the three players I believe that the Orlando Magic should target with the 4th pick.

Top 3 Players to target with the 4th pick:

  1. Noah Vonleh-  Why am I high on the Magic selecting this player with the 4th pick?  I believe that Vonleh could stretch the defense with his three point shooting.   Vonleh is aggressive on both end of the floor hitting the glass hard.  I think you pair him up with Nikola Vucevic, and you would have the two V'S in the paint (Vucevic and Vonleh).  I admit I couldn't resist that thought there.   I think Vonleh will be incredible on the offensive end.  I will be honest, I don't get to watch much college ball.  My comparision is picture Kevin Love playing amazing defense.
  2. Julius Randle-  From what I seen of Randle this season,  he didn't do well in the first half.  I still would pick Vonleh over Randle because of the three point shooting.  What I like about what I seen of Randle was, he may not have done well in the first half in the games I saw, but in the second half he came alive.   If Vonleh is off the board, then I would select Julius Randle. I love Randle's rebounding.  Randle reminds me of a Zach Randolph.
  3. Dante Exum-  People are higher on him than I am.  I only question taking him above Vonleh and Randle, because he is the unknown prospect.  Exum a combo guard at 6'6.  I haven't seen his game.  I believe I would only select Exum if Vonleh and Randle by some crazy miracle ar off the board.   I also believe that Orlando can get a point guard with the 12th pick.  Am I crazy for thinking the Magic should select Vonleh over Exum?

Top 3 Orlando Magic players should target with the 12th pick.

  1. Tyler Ennis-  I know this may be a bit of a reach, or a huge reach here.  Ennis pays attention to detail meaning he more than likely won't have a huge number or turnovers.  If he only averages 2-3 turnovers a game. I find that impressive.   Ennis is a coachable player, and a good defender in disrupting the passing lanes.   I believe that Ennis will work hard on his game.  I'm going to make a huge bold and crazy prediction, if Ennis doesn't suffer a lot of injuries, I believe he will be an all star in this league.  If Orlando comes out of this draft selecting Vonleh or Randle, and Ennis I'm a happy fan.  Am I reaching with this pick?  Or do you believe what I believe.
  2. Elfrid Payton-  Another good solid defender who would be on my board.   Elfrid Payton can finish at the rim, is athletic and has good transition defense.  If Ennis is gone, I could live with this pick. What about you?
  3. Adreian Payne-  I'm only suggesting this pick, if the Magic select Exum with the 4th pick.  Payne is a three point shooter, and a good free throw shooter.  I think with Payne having good shooting at the line, he should attack the basket more.  Payne could stretch the defense against opposing teams.   Would be a good locker room leader, and has good intangibles.  Maybe I'm reaching with Payne with the 12th pick.  I think that if Randle and Vonleh are gone, and you select a point guard with the 4th pick, you take Payne.  Would you like a starting five of Vucevic, Payne, Harris, Dipo and Exum.  I think that wouldn't be a bad five.

Arron Afflalo 25 points leads Magic to win over Nets, Who should the Orlando Magic draft?

The Orlando Magic are a struggling franchise right now. I do have hope for this team though. I can't wait to see what players they draft in the 2014 NBA Draft. Last night the Orlando Magic defeated the Brooklyn Nets 115-111. Arron Afflalo scored 25 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds and had 9 of 16 shooting. Etwaun Moore scored 17 points, shot 6 of 6 from the field, and a perfect 5 of 5 from downtown in 18 minutes and 25 seconds of playing time. Tobias Harris (one of my favorite players), scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steals. Point guard Jameer Nelson scored 14 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds. Kyle O'Quinn added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks. Who should the Orlando Magic draft in the 2014 NBA Draft? I don't want to see this team reach for a point guard if they get a top 3 pick. I think we should take the best player available. If the Magic do get a top 2 pick I believe they should draft either Jabari Parker out of Duke, or Andrew Wiggins out of Kansas. Send me your comments on that. For the Brooklyn Nets, Joe Johnson lead the way with 31 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds. Mirza Teletovic scored 17 points and pulled down 9 rebounds. Mason Plumlee scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Scoring shooting guard Marcus Thornton scored 13 points. Point guard Deron Williams added 11 points, 5 assists, 3 steals and 3 rebounds. How far will the Nets go in the 2014 NBA Playoffs? Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land. Here below you can purchase some Orlando Magic merchandise.

Tobias Harris and Center Nikola Vucevic achieve double-double to help Magic win over Blazers

I love the Orlando Magic. I will be moving to Orlando at the end of April. I am excited about that. I'm also excited about the 2014 NBA Draft coming up for the Orlando Magic. So far it's looking like they are going to have two picks in the lottery at the moment. Last night's game was great for two players, Tobias Harris and center Nikola Vucevic. Harris and Vucevic achieved double-doubles to help the Magic win over the Blazers. The Orlando Magic defeated the Portland Trailblazers 95-85. Tobias Harris lead the way with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Big man Nikola Vucevic scored 22 points and 10 rebounds. Rookie shooting guard Victor Oladipo added 13 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Who would you like to see the Orlando Magic draft in the 2014 NBA Draft? I think they could draft a small forward or a power forward with their first pick. My list would consist of Jabari Parker, Andrew Wiggins, Noah Vonleh or Julius Randle. The second pick I feel they should take a point guard like Marcus Smart (if he's still on the board and you never know), Zach LaVine or Tyler Ennis. What do you think about this? For the Portland Trailblazers Robin Lopez lead the way with 20 points, 13 rebounds and 2 blocks. Wesley Matthews scored 18 points, 3 assists and had 4 of 8 shooting from three point land. All-star point guard Damian Lillard added 17 points and 2 assists. Do you think the Portland Trailblazers will make the playoffs? How far will they go? Send me your thoughts on this. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land. The place where you can read articles, share your opinions and purchase pro basketball merchandise. Magic send 76ers to their 12th straight loss with win : Nikola Vucevic and Victor Oladipo achieve double-doubles

Two teams this season who will more than likely be in the top 5 in the 2014 NBA Draft will be the Orlando Magic and the Philadelphia 76ers. Last night two of the worst teams in the NBA played one another. Nikola Vucevic and rookie Victor Oladipo achieved double-doubles to send the Philadelphia 76ers to their 12th straight loss of the season. The Orlando Magic defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 101-90. Nikola Vucevic lead the way with 21 points, 13 rebounds and 3 blocks. Victor Oladipo scored 17 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists. Jameer Nelson added 16 points, 12 assists and 6 rebounds. The Orlando Magic improve to 18-42 with the win. What players do you think would be the right fit for the Magic in the 2014 NBA Draft? The Magic currently have two picks in the lottery according to www.nbadraft.net the 3rd and 12th. According to nbadraft.net they have them taking Andrew Wiggins and Zach Lavine. Would you like those picks? I would because imagine the athleticism of Wiggins, Oladipo and Lavine. For the Philadelphia 76ers Thaddeus Young lead with 19 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Tony Wroten added 15 points and 5 rebounds off the bench. Point guard Eric Maynor added 13 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists off the bench. What two players would you like to see the 76ers take in the 1st round? Send me your thoughts on this. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land.

Oladipo scores 23: Magic defeat another tough team

After Friday Night the Orlando Magic defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder with a Tobias Harris game winning dunk, on Sunday the Magic defeated the Indiana Pacers 93-92. I believe that the Orlando Magic's future is bright if they draft the right players in the 2014 NBA draft. One of my favorite Orlando players Victor Oladipo scored 23 points, 4 assists and 4 rebounds to lead the way for the Magic. Nikola Vucevic added a double-double, 19 points and 13 rebounds. Tobias Harris scored 13 points and 5 assists. For the Indiana Pacers Paul George lead the way with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Lance Stephenson scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. David West added 14 points and 4 rebounds. For those of you who want to see the last second Tobias Harris game winning dunk, watch the video below. All videos are of the NBA. I just want to give them credit. What did you think of this game for the Magic? What players should Orlando Magic draft in the 2014 NBA Draft? Do you feel that the Magic has a bright future like I do? Send me your thoughts on this here. You can also talk about the Orlando Magic on the forum that is on this blog now. Afflalo shines in victory over Hawks

Arron Afflalo is playing like an all star this season. Yesterday against the Hawks Afflalo scored 21 points to lead the Orlando Magic to a 109-102 win over the Atlanta Hawks. Afflalo added 7 assists and shot 7 of 10 from the field. Tobias Harris scored 17 points and pulled down 7 rebounds. Nikola Vucevic is becoming a top 5-10 center in the NBA to me. Vucevic achieved double-double stature with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Glen Big Baby Davis added 16 points and 5 rebounds. The rookie shooting guard out of the University of Indiana, Victor Oladipo added 15 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds. The Orlando Magic improve to 10-20 with the win. I would like to see the Magic get a top five draft pick next season and take either Jabari Parker out of Duke, or Marcus Smart out of Oklahoma State. For the Atlanta Hawks, Jeff Teague lead the Hawks with 22 points and 8 assists. Louis Williams added 18 points, 3 assists, and 3 rebounds. Paul Millsap added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks. What did you think of the play of Afflalo? Is he an all-star? Where would you rank Nikola Vucevic amongst current NBA centers? Send me your thoughts on this. Stayed tuned for some new changes to this blog, get involved in the forum on here. I thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land. I want to wish everyone of you a happy new year.

The Magic edge by the Bulls with Afflalo's 23 points

The Orlando Magic are an interesting NBA team. They are rebuilding for the future. One of the pieces who I believe will be traded, Arron Afflalo last night scored 23 points, to help the Orlando Magic defeat the Chicago Bulls 83-82. Afflalo also added 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Glen Big Baby Davis achieved a double-double, by scoring 14 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Jameer Nelson added 14 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds. Nikola Vucevic, to me is becoming a top five center in the NBA, added a double-double by scoring 10 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. For the Chicago Bulls, Luol Deng lead the way with 26 points and 8 rebounds. Point Guard, D.J. Augustin scored 14 points and 8 assists. Mike Dunleavy added 14 points and 7 rebounds. What did you think of the win for the Magic? Will Arron Afflalo be traded? Is there anyone else from the Magic who will be traded? In spite the Bulls lost, how did you like the performance of Luol Deng? Are you happy the Bulls signed point guard, D.J. Augustin? Send me your thoughts on this game. Nikola Vucevic leads the Magic to victory over 76ers with a double-double

Orlando Magic center Nikola Vucevic is becoming a top five center to me in the NBA. I love his game. On Wednesday against the Philadelphia 76ers Vucevic shined again to help the Orlando Magic defeat the Philadelphia 76ers 105-94. Vucevic scored 21 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 blocks while shooting 10 of 13 from the field. Glen Big Baby Davis scored 19 points and pulled down 5 rebounds. Rookie two guard out of the University of Indiana, Victor Oladipo scored 18 points, 5 assists and had 5 steals. Arron Afflalo scored 18 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Andrew Nicholson added 11 points and 5 rebounds. For the Philadelphia 76ers Thaddeus Young lead with 26 points and 8 rebounds. Young shot 2 of 3 from three point range. Rookie point guard out of Syracuse Michael Carter-Williams scored 23 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Evan Turner added 17 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists in the losing effort. The Orlando Magic improve their record to 6-9 with the win. The Philadelphia 76ers drop to 6-10 with the loss. Magic fans tell me how much do you love Nikola Vucevic? Is Victor Oladipo the shooting guard of the future for the Magic? I know it's early Magic fans but if we can't get Wiggins, Smart or Randle who do you hope we draft? My answer would be Marcus Smart. Tell me what you think. Send me your comments. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land.

Afflalo's career high 36 points helps Magic defeat the Bucks 94-91

Two guard Arron Afflalo played the game of his life last night. Afflalo scored 36 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, shot 11 of 15 from the field, and 8 of 11 from three point range. Afflalo's 36 was enough to help the Orlando Magic defeat the Milwaukee Bucks 94-91. Double-Double big man Nikola Vucevic scored 17 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and had 3 assists. Maurice Harkless scored 10 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Rookie shooting guard Victor Oladipo scored 10 points in 22 minutes of play off the bench. For the Milwaukee Bucks two guard OJ Mayo lead the way with 25 points, 7 rebounds and had 6 turnovers. Veteran small forward Caron Butler added 20 points and 5 boards. Khris Middleton added 19 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals. The power forward drafted out of North Carolina, John Henson added 10 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 blocks. Double-double from Vucevic: Great play from number two pick rookie Victor Oladipo lead Magic to victory over depth-oriented Nets

The Orlando Magic last night played against depth-oriented Brooklyn Nets. Nikola Vucevic scored 19 points, and 12 rebounds to have a double double. Number two pick rookie Victor Oladipo added 19 points as well, to help the Orlando Magic defeat the Brooklyn Nets 107-86. Oladipo not only had 19 points, he also had 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and shot 8 of 13 from the field. Andrew Nicholson acquired double-double status as well, with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Arron Afflalo added 16 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds. For the huge depth Nets Brook Lopez lead with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 blocks. Paul Pierce added 16 points and 7 rebounds. Orlando Magic and the Number 2 Pick in 2013 NBA Draft. The possible three players they should choose

When I was down in Orlando Florida for a while I walked by the Orlando Magic stadium I don't know how many times. I am hoping they make a smart choice this season with the number 2 pick in this draft. There aren't really a lot of great players in this draft but there are three possible people if they don't pick in this draft they will regret it. Here is the list of three players and why they should take them. 1) Ben McLemore- SG- 6'5" 190 LBS- Kansas. The six foot five shooting guard who many compare to Ray Allen is my first choice in the 2013 NBA Draft that the Orlando Magic should take. I really feel that they need a two guard to build around. I believe that McLemore the shooting guard out of Kansas will be a good starting piece for the Magic to build this team around. I love the fact that he can shoot the three point shot and also has some amazing athleticism. So if they the Cleveland Cavaliers choose not to select McLemore then the Magic should. 2) Trey Burke- PG- 6'1"- 190LBS- Michigan- If McLemore is taken off the board with the 1st pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers then I feel Burke could be a great answer for the Magic at the point guard spot. Trey Burke is a clutch point guard and I feel you could give him the ball during clutch situations especially in the fourth quarter. I also believe that Burke the six foot one point guard out of Michigan will be a huge upgrade over Jameer Nelson. The Orlando Magic had the worst record in the NBA during the 2012-2013 season with a record of 20-62. So I hope someone from the Magic does read this and take this post very very seriously. Please pick McLemore or Burke with the second pick. 3) Anthony Bennett- SF/PF- 6'7" - 240 LBS- UNLV- If for some strange reason the Magic doesn't pick McLemore or Burke then I can see Anthony Bennett being a solid pick for the Magic. Bennett is an amazing six foot seven combo forward with a seven foot one wingspan. Bennett could be a nightmare matchup for the small forwards and could I believe bang inside with some of the power forwards. I would love Bennett to be on the Magic assuming that they don't take McLemore or Burke. With the 2014 Draft for next year the only way to take Bennett is to play him mostly at the power forward position. I think seeing Vuceic and Bennett in the low post would be fun to watch as well. I just hope the Orlando Magic picks smart here and also maybe signs Brandon Jennings if they don't take Burke. Thank you for reading my NBA Blog.

Orlando Magic wins 101-76 over Atlanta Hawks to keep the series alive.

Well for the Orlando Magic tonight it was go hard or go home. Tonight they went hard and to me played the best I've seen in the playoffs so far by them. The Orlando Magic beat the Atlanta Hawks 101-76 to trail the Hawks 3-2. Jason Richardson ( J-Rich) led the Magic in scoring with 17 points. J.J. Reddick added 14 points off the bench. Ryan Anderson added 11 points and 7 rebounds. Four people for the Magic scored 9 points and those players were Brandon Bass, Hedo Turkoglu, Gilbert Arenas and Jameer Nelson. Dwight Howard scored 8 points and added 8 rebounds. For The Atlanta Hawks Josh Smith led with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Marvin Williams added 12 points off the bench. Al Horford added 9 points and 14 rebounds. Atlanta Hawks could have finished off Orlando tonight but apparantly they didn't want to. If Orlando wants to win this series they need to play the next two games like they played tonight. Much better performance tonight.

Dwight Howard dominates in game 2 and this time Orlando wins to even series

Defensive Player of the year Dwight Howard dominates again by scoring 33 points and pulling down 19 rebounds. Last game he dominated with 46 points and Orlando lost. This time he dominated again and Orlando won by beating the Atlanta Hawks 88-82 to even the series at 1-1. Dwight Howard to me is the best center in the game currently and has helped Orlando this season. Besides Dwight Howard scoring other players did okay. Jameer Nelson added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Hedo Turkoglu added 10 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds. Good game by Orlando. As for the Atlanta Hawks Jamal Crawford led the way with 25 points. Josh Smith added 17 points and 6 rebounds and Joe Johnson added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. While this series to me isn't as exciting as say Boston Celtics VS New York Knicks or Chicago Bulls VS Indiana Pacers. It has the potential to be interesting.
