Nuggets win 4th straight game behind Wilson Chandler's 19 and Ty Lawson's double-double

I admit I was worried about the Denver Nuggets when they were 2-7. Somehow the last 4 games they have found a way to win games. On Sunday the Denver Nuggets took on a struggling Los Angeles Lakers team. It took until overtime, but the Denver Nuggets got it done by beating the L.A. Lakers 101-94. Wilson Chandler lead the way with 19 points. Point guard Ty Lawson added a double-double by scoring 18 points and dishing out 16 assists. Here are the stats for both teams.

I am wondering if Denver Nuggets coach Brian Shaw was thinking in the back of his mind, at 2-7 my coaching job is on the hot seat, so I must find a way for these guys to win. Having Wilson Chandler and Danilo Gallinari I find to be helpful. This Nuggets team has depth, but no one that is an All-Star ( although I feel that Ty Lawson is to me). Wilson Chandler scores 21: Mozgov adds 17: Ty Lawson achieves 15 and 15 to lead Nuggets to win over Thunder

After a 1-6 start, the Denver Nuggets have found a way to win 3 of their last 4 games. Last night was one of those four games. The Denver Nuggets defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 107-100. Wilson Chandler lead the way with 21 points. Here are the stats for each team.

Denver Nuggets Thoughts

Will Coach Brian Shaw be fired? I personally to this day will never understand why coach George Karl was fired.
Last year I feel it was injuries that killed this team. This year I feel there should be less excuse for this team to not make it to at least the 8th seed. This team has some great depth, but for some reason under coach Brian Shaw it doesn't gel together.
I personally would like to see them fire Brian Shaw and bring in Mark Jackson or Avery Johnson.
I want to see this team go more run and gun like it did under George Karl.
Great win for the Nuggets. Nice to see Wilson Chandler scoring. Ty Lawson is to me the best player on this team.
At the deadline I feel the only two pieces that may be untouchable are Ty Lawson and Kenneth Faried. I could see maybe everyone else being possibly traded for young assets and draft picks.

Oklahoma City Thunder Thoughts

At 3-10 it is showing, this team is lost without Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.
There is a little part of me saying sit Durant and Westbrook out to try for a top 5 draft pick. There are some quality pieces at the top of the draft. Jahill Okafor, Karl Anthony-Towns, Miles Turner has moved up.
Right now it has to be the Reggie Jackson and Serge Ibaka show.
Am shocked by the performance by Sebastian Telfair. I always feel and still do that he is an NBA Bust. I'm hoping this game will build up his confidence because I don't want to see any player fail.

Final Thoughts

I want to see the Nuggets improve over last year. One of my favorite players on this squad is Nate Robinson. This team has some great depth with Mozgov, Faried, Chandler, Affalo, Lawson, McGee, Arthur, Gallinari, Harris, Robinson. I feel it's tougher for Denver now with some of the other teams in the Western Conference on the rise. I don't want to suggest that Denver stink it up, but if they were to land a top 5 draft pick who could be a franchise changing player, I feel it would help them. What are your thoughts on this game? 30 Days 30 Grades: Day 8: Northwest Division Western Conference Denver Nuggets Off-Season Grade

Welcome to day 8 of my 30 day blog series 30 Days 30 Grades. Today we are going to talk about Western Conference Northwest Division Denver Nuggets. I will give my off-season grade below, I will then talk about the players the Nuggets added through the draft, free agency, trades or claimed off of waivers. I will also talk about the players that are subtracted meaning they were traded away, lost to free agency or waived/amnestied.

2014 NBA Draft: Top 3 players for Denver Nuggets to target with the 11th pick

The Denver Nuggets have the 11th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. It's possible they may trade it. Say they don't trade it and keep the pick, what three players should the Nuggets try to realistically target. I have a list of three players that the Denver Nuggets should target with the 11th pick.

Top 3 Players to target with the 11th pick

Nik Stauskas- Stauskas has good ball handling. The Michigan shooting guard can spot up and knock down the three point shot. I think Stauskas would be a great fit with the Nuggets. If you inject Stauskas in the starting lineup you could have McGee, Faried, Gallinari, Stauskas and Lawson. That would be an exciting starting five to watch.
Gary Harris- A coachable player who could defend both guard positions in the NBA. While Harris is only 6 foot 4, size isn't everything, it's what you do with it that counts. I think Harris would be a solid player in the NBA. I'm not as sold on him as I am Stauskas, but if Stauskas if off the board, I'd have no problem selecting Gary Harris with the 11th pick. I don't feel that Harris would be a reach with the 11th pick.
James Young- Young I admit could be a reach here, but Young can score lights out. I believe Young could either be a solid starter, or add more to the Nuggets bench. What are your thoughts on this? What are your thoughts on James Young?

Mozgov pulls down career high 29 rebounds: Faried hits game winning jumper to lead Nuggets over Warriors

I will never understand why the Denver Nuggets fired coach George Karl. I feel sorry for the Nuggets because of all the injuries they have suffered this season. I wish I would have stayed up for this game because it was an exciting one to miss. The Denver Nuggets defeated the Golden State Warriors 100-99. Center Timofey Mozgov did something that only one other player in this century has done, he scored 23 points, pulled down 29 rebounds, blocked 3 shots and had 3 assists while shooting 10 of 15 from the field. The last player to score at least 23 points and pull down 29 rebounds was Minnesota all star power forward Kevin Love on November 12,2010, when he scored 31 points and pulled down 31 rebounds. I think that big man Mozgov played great last night. Mozgov is an underrated center. Would you agree with me on that? Randy Foye scored 20 points, 7 assists and 7 rebounds. High energy power forward Kenneth Faried scored 18 points and pulled down 17 rebounds. Faried hit a game winning jumper with less than a second left to help the Nuggets win. Darrell Arthur added 10 points on 2 of 4 shooting from downtown in over 20 minutes of playing time. The Denver Nuggets out rebounded the Golden State Warriors 63-38 on the boards. For the Golden State Warriors, point guard and three point shooter Stephen Curry lead the way with 24 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals and shot 2 of 7 from three point land. Klay Thompson the other splash brother scored 21 points on 3 of 6 shooting from downtown. Jermaine O Neal scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Jordan Crawford added 10 points on 5 of 10 shooting in 15 minutes of action. Will the Warriors make the playoffs? How far will they go in the 2014 NBA Playoffs? 30 Free Throws Help Denver Nuggets defeat the Dallas Mavericks

Did anyone besides me watch the Wednesday Night ESPN NBA Game Dallas Mavericks playing against the Denver Nuggets? What did you think of this game? The Denver Nuggets shot 36 free throws in this game. The Nuggets hit 30 of them. The Denver Nuggets defeating the Dallas Mavericks 115-110. Wilson Chandler lead the way with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Drafted out of North Carolina point guard, Ty Lawson scored 20 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds. High energy power forward Kenneth Faried scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Randy Foye scored 16 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, shot 5 of 9 from the field and 4 of 8 from downtown. J.J. Hickson played incredible on defense. Hickson scored 16 points, 5 rebounds, blocked 5 shots, 3 assists and shot 80 percent (8-10). Darrell Arthur added 10 points and 4 rebounds off the bench. I think that the Denver Nuggets should have never fired coach George Karl. I loved the way last night they ran up and down the court very fast. This year it seems like the Nuggets doesn't run and gun like they did last season. I don't see the Nuggets making the playoffs this season. The most exciting thing they do have to look forward though is the 2014 NBA Draft. Who would you like to see the Denver Nuggets draft? For the Dallas Mavericks, Dirk Nowitzki scored 27 points, 7 rebounds and shot 13 of 20 from the field. Brandon Wright played great off the bench. Wright scored 18 points and shot 9 of 13 in 25 minutes off the bench. Vince Carter scored 17 points off the bench. Monta Ellis added 16 points, 4 assists, and shot 7 of 13 from the field. Kenneth Faried (The Manimal) 26 leads Denver to win over Milwaukee

I enjoy the play of Kenneth Faried. I love his high energy. He is a blast to watch. Last night Faried scored 26 points and 6 rebounds. The Denver Nuggets defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 101-90. Wilson Chandler scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and shot 3 out of 3 from downtown. J.J. Hickson achieved a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Timofey Mozgov added 14 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks. Randy Foye played the point and scored 12 points and 10 assists. Will the Denver Nuggets make the playoffs? Nuggets edge out Wizards in spite of having 20 turnovers

Last nights game between the Denver Nuggets and the Washington Wizards, I thought would have had more scoring than it did. Turnovers were a problem in this game. The Nuggets had 20 turnovers to the Wizards 14. In spite of that, The Nuggets defeated the Washington Wizards 75-74. Wilson Chandler lead the way with 17 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, shot 7 out of 10 from the field, and 3 of 6 from three point land. Nate Robinson added 16 points, 4 steals, 3 rebounds and 2 assists in over 28 minutes of playing time. For the Washington Wizards John Wall lead with 20 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds. Center Marcin Gortat scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and had 3 blocked shots in the game. Trevor Ariza added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The Nuggets improve to 13-8 with the win. Denver wins 14th straight

What about them Denver Nuggets? Aren't they amazing? I really feel they have a great shot at finishing second in the conference. I would even go so far to say that they could maybe catch the Spurs. Last night the Denver Nuggets edged out the Philadelphia 76ers for a 101-100 win. Corey Brewer amazing off the bench led the Nuggets with 29 points. Brewer shot 10 out of 18 from the field and 5 out of 6 from downtown. Andre Miller scored 21 points and had 8 assists. Andre Iguodala ex-76ers scored 13 points and 4 assists. Danilo Gallinari scored 12 points and had 4 rebounds. For the Philadelphia 76ers they almost stopped the Nuggets but came up short. Damian Wilkins lead the way with 24 points. Wilkins shot 10 of 15 from the field. Jrue Holiday scored a double double. Holiday had 18 points and 15 assists while pulling down 6 boards. Thaddeus Young shot 9 out of 15 from the field to add 18 points. Spencer Hawes besides Holiday also had a double double. Hawes scored 17 points and pulling down 12 rebounds while dishing out 5 assists. Nuggets win 12th straight game in overtime against the Bulls

Very few people talk about the Denver Nuggets because of the streak of the Miami Heat. Well last night the Denver Nuggets played the Chicago Bulls. Wilson Chandler scored 35 points and pulled down 9 rebounds. The Nuggets defeated the Bulls 119-118 in overtime. Corey Brewer scored 16 points on 7 out of 13 shooting off the bench. Ty Lawson scored 13 points and had 3 assists. Andre Iguodala scored a double double with 12 points and 10 assists. Iguodala hit a go ahead tray with 07.1 seconds left to help the Nuggets win. The Chicago Bulls leading scorer was Nate Robinson who scored 34 points. Nate shot 6 out of 8 from downtown and also had 7 assists. Luol Deng scored 21 points. Marco Belinelli added 18 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. Joakim Noah my second favorite player on the Bulls behind Derrick Rose added a double double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Amazing NBA Team in West: Denver Nuggets

Everybody talks about the Los Angeles Lakers, Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs and the Los Angeles Clippers but very few or anybody talks about the Denver Nuggets this season. They have won 10 games in a row. Their record is 44-22. Ty Lawson is a very quick and speedy point guard who plays amazing. Andre Miller is a veteran point guard who have never been selected to an all star team which I don't understand. Andre Iguodala is an athletic wingman who can play defense and can ball. Kenneth Faried is a second year player who plays very amazing with his dunking, defensive and athletic ability. Javale McGee who I feel was a great pickup for the Nuggets provides a spark off the bench in blocking shots and dunking skills. Danilo Gallinari a 6 foot 10 small forward can shoot the three point shot is amazing. Wilson Chandler is amazing too. If Denver plays as a fast pace alot watch out. Denver runs up and down the court very quick and they have quickness at each position. Hardly no one gives the Nuggets any credit but I am here to say the Nuggets are amazing. I also don't want to forget the great coach they have in George Karl. Nuggets are a team who goes to the rim more than they shoot the three. The Denver Nuggets an amazing Western Conference team in the NBA are a lot of fun to watch especially when they are at home. So to all you NBA fans I really encourage you to check out the Denver Nuggets whenever you can. I recommend going to youtube and typing in a video about the 2012-2013 Denver Nuggets best plays of the season. If you don't I will say you are missing out on a great team to watch. Danilo Gallinari and Ty Lawson score 26 points a piece to help Denver Nuggets defeat the Boston Celtics 97-90

The Denver Nuggets to me are playing very impressive this season. They don't have a superstar like Carmelo Anthony and yet they somehow win. How do they do that? I believe they play as a team effort. Last night the Denver Nuggets defeated the Boston Celtics 97-90. Danilo Gallinari scored 26 points and pulled down 5 rebounds. Gallinari also hit 4 three pointers to help the cause. Ty Lawson is an amazing point guard. Lawson also scored 26 points and he added 6 rebounds and 6 assists.

For The Boston Celtics Jeff Green led all Celtics scorers with 20 points off the bench. Avery Bradley added 17 points in place of the injured Rajon Rondo. Kevin Garnett added 12 points and pull down 9 rebounds. The Boston Celtics while they lost this game have found ways to win without Rondo in the lineup.

Denver Nuggets win by three to stay in the playoffs.

For the Denver Nuggets it was either win or go home. They apparantly didn't want to go home. They defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 104-101 to trail the Thunder 3-1. Ty Lawson led the Nuggets in scoring with 27 points on 8 of 16 shooting. I bet the Minnesota Timberwolves are still regretting trading Lawson on draft night after this game. Danilo Gallinari did some decent NBA Ballin by adding 18 points, 6 rebounds and shot 3 out of 4 from three point range. J.R. Smith added 15 points off the bench and made three 3 pointers. Kenyon Martin (K-Mart) added 13 points and 9 rebounds. For the Thunder Kevin Durant (KD) scored 31 points and had 5 rebounds. Russell Westbrook scored 30 points had 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Westbrook took 30 shots which to me was crazy where as Kevin Durant only took 18. Westbrook to me took some shots that were unnecessary especially at towards the end of the game. Kevin Durant should of took the last shot of the game. Also at the end it looked to me that Westbrook was fouled. The only other highlight for the Thunder was that Serge Ibaka had a double double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. The Thunder almost got the sweep but came up short.

Ty Lawson hits ten 3 pointers against Minnesota Timberwolves

After watching tonight's game I bet David Kahn is kicking himself for trading Ty Lawson to the Nuggets on draft night. Why do I say that? Ty Lawson lit up the Timberwolves like a Christmas tree by hitting ten 3 pointers against them. He shot 10 of 11 from downtown and scored 37 points had 7 rebounds and 6 assists. J.R. Smith added 18 points off the bench, Al Harrington and Kenyon Martin added 12 points to help Denver beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 130-106. For the Minnesota Timberwolves Martell Webster and Lazar Hayward led the T-Wolves in scoring with 15 points a piece. Michael Beasley added 14 points. Rookie Wesley Johnson and Anthony Randolph each added 13 points. All I can say for the T-Wolves is where was the defense on Ty Lawson? I'm starting to think that the T-Wolves should have either traded Ricky Rubio or Jonny Flynn on draft night now instead of Ty Lawson. The T-Wolves drop to 17-63 with the loss and the Nuggets improve to 49-31 with the win. This was a great game by Ty Lawson

Nuggets Rise Up In L.A.

The Los Angeles Lakers came in to this game with a nine game winning streak. I was wondering if and when someone was going to finally beat the Lakers again. Sunday afternoon it happened as the Denver Nuggets beat the Los Angeles Lakers 95-90. The Nuggets have been a very impressive team since the Carmelo Anthony trade. Nuggets have more depth in there lineup than before. The Los Angeles Lakers were up 47-40 at halftime. My thinking would have been the way the Lakers have been playing that lead should be safe. In reality though there was a second half to still be played. The Nuggets I'm sure at halftime said right now we're down but we're not out. In the second half the Nuggets rised up against the NBA champs and outscored them 55-43. Danilo Gallinari led the Nuggets with 22 points and had 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Kenyon Martin added 18 points and 8 rebounds and Raymond Felton added 16 points. For the Los Angeles Lakers Kobe Bryant led them in scoring with 28 points, Lamar Odom added 17 points off the bench and Pau Gasol added a double double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. For The Nuggets this win was great because they clinched a playoff spot and this game proved something. It's not how you start the game but how you finish the game. I'd say the Nuggets finished the game very well and congrats to the Nuggets for the win and clinching a playoff spot.

Denver Nuggets since trading Carmelo Anthony to New York

Is it me or are the Denver Nuggets playing better since Carmelo Anthony was traded to New York. I thought when they added Chauncey Billups to the trade I thought the Nuggets officially lost there mind. I now realized how wrong I was. They are 11-4 since the trade while New York is 7-9. With Denver I don't know who is going to be the leading scorer of the night since Melo was traded. Denver has had games where five to six guys have been in double figures. The Nuggets seem to play to win while to me the Knicks have some guys who are playing more for stats. While I don't think the Nuggets are going to the NBA finals they are a much better and interesting team. I was amazed at last night how they were keeping up with the Spurs and how Al Harrington many times got fouled by driving to the basket. Denver now has more depth on there roster since the trade. Here are the guys by position who i think are good players.

Center- Nene, Chris Anderson

Power Forward- Kenyon Martin, Al Harrington

Point Guard- Ty Lawson, Raymond Felton

I look at that and think Denver is 10 deep. Whether that team will go deep in the playoffs I don't know. They do now have some young pieces to build around now which will be helpful. I actually thought this team would start losing but again have proven me wrong.
