30 Days 30 Grades: Day 26 The Sacramento Kings Off-Season Grade

Welcome to day 26 of my 30 day blog series "30 Days 30 Grades".  Today I am going to be talking about NBA team Pacific Division Sacramento Kings and their off-season grade.  There are four things I am going to do in this article, 1) Give my Kings off-season grade,  2) Give a list of players added to the Sacramento Kings roster, whether it be through the draft, free agency, trade, claimed off of waivers or undrafted,  3) Give a list of players subtracted from the roster and finally, 4) Give the reason or reasons why I give the Sacramento Kings the off-season grade that I gave them.

Sacramento Kings Off-Season Grade:  C+

Sacramento Kings Players Added:  Darren Collison, Ramon Sessions, Nik Stauskas, Eric Moreland, Sim Bhullar, Alex Oriakhi, Scotty Hopson, Alonzo Gee

Sacramento Kings Players Subtracted:  Isaiah Thomas, Aaron Gray, Quincy Acy,  Travis Outlaw, Wayne Ellington, Jeremy Tyler, Jason Terry

Why did I give the Sacramento Kings an off-season report card grade of C plus?   I admit I just don't understand why the Kings had Noah Vonleh on the board and drafted Stauskas instead.  You took Ben McLemore in last year's draft, why not takes Vonleh to pair with Cousins?  I feel this team needs help at the power forward position.  I like some of the players on this team like DeMarcus Cousins, Rudy Gay, Derrick Williams,  Ben McLemore ( who I feel will get better), the pickups of Darren Collison and Ramon Sessions. I think what made me lower their grade to a c plus was that they didn't resign 20 points per game last year point guard Isaiah Thomas.  I'm feeling that the Kings will be a lottery team again next year, unless they make a big move to get someone great to Sacramento.  When I think of the greatest moves of all time the Kings did was trading Mitch Richmond for Chris Webber.  I'm hoping that Stauskas will be a great scorer coming off the bench.  I like the pickup of Alonzo Gee to add to their bench.  My only other thought I can think about this is , I'm guessing that the Kings are going to go with Derrick Williams as their starting power forward.  You could have a starting five of DeMarcus Cousins, Derrick Williams, Rudy Gay, Ben McLemore and Darren Collison.   I admit I fell in love with the Kings when they had Chris Webber. I long for them to be back on top again. I like DeMarcus Cousins. Yes he can be a bit of a headcase, but he can play.  So what do you think of my off-season grade of the Kings?  Do you think I was fair?  Did I rank them too high or not high enough?  Send me your comments and tell me why or why not?  Stay tuned for soon I will have something special on my blog for Sacramento Kings fans. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land. The blog where you can read articles from the perspective of an NBA fan.  I don't claim to know everything about basketball, I just enjoy talking about it.
