30 Days 30 Grades: Day 25 Portland Trailblazers off-season grade

Welcome to Day 25 of my 30 blog series titled "30 Days 30 Grades". Today I am going to be talking about Northwest Division Western Conference NBA Team Portland Trailblazers. I feel that Portland was one of the surprising teams like year in the NBA. Damian Lillard improved his game, and so did LaMarcus Aldridge, while adding Robin Lopez to bang down low. Here are the four things I'm going to do in this blog , 1) I'm going to give my Portland Trailblazers off-season grade, 2) I'm going to give a list of players added to the roster whether it be through the draft, trade, free agency or claimed off of waivers, 3) I'm going to give a list of players that are subtracted from the roster and 4) I'm going to give the reason or reasons why I give the Trailblazers the off-season grade that I give them.

Portland Trailblazers Off-Season Grade:  A

Portland Trailblazers Players Added:  Steve Blake,  Chris Kaman

Portland Trailblazers Players Subtracted:  Mo Williams

Why did I give the Trailblazers a report card grade of A?  I feel that while they lost Mo Williams, they replaced him with Steve Blake who is a solid point guard, and added a better backup center in Chris Kaman.  I feel that the Blazers improved their bench.  I personally can't wait to see the Blazers play this year.  The Blazers are set with the starting five of Robin Lopez,  LaMarcus Aldridge, Nicolas Batum (who is an underrated small forward and yes even by me sometimes),  Wesley Matthews, and Damian Lillard.   I could see the Blazers at least having the same success as last year, maybe even more.  The starting five is good, I feel at least 4-5 guys off their bench is solid too. Chris Kaman is a good center, Thomas Robinson is a solid athletic backup power forward, Dorell Wright can knock down three's off the bench,  McCollum is a combo guard who shot 41 percent from the field last year, and 37 percent from three.  Steve Blake is a nice backup point guard.  The Blazers are to me this up and coming season at least 9-10 deep, would you agree with me on that?  How far do you think the Blazers will go next year?  What grade would you give the Blazers for their off-season grade?  Am I too high on my grade, too low, or just right? Send me your comments as I'm interested and encourage you to send me your thoughts on this. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land.
