Pelicans defeat 2014 NBA Champs San Antonio Spurs behind Anthony Davis scoring 27

Anthony Davis to me right now is the best power forward in the NBA. If I were to build a franchise today, I would take him over Lebron James and Kevin Durant. Davis has shined faster than I've imagined. He is playing out of his mind at only 21 years old. Anthony Davis scored 27 points to help the New Orleans Pelicans defeat 2014 NBA Finals Champions San Antonio Spurs 100-99. Here are the stats for each team.

New Orleans Pelicans Thoughts

1. If this roster can remain healthy for 80 percent of the season or better, this is my sleeper team to make the playoffs. 
2. Nice to see double doubles out of Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday.  
3. To beat the 2014 NBA Champs has to feel good.  If the Spurs were to finish in the 1 seed and Pelicans were to finish 8th, and knocked off the Spurs that would be even better.

San Antonio Spurs Thoughts

1. If the Spurs don't give Kwahi Leonard an extension, who do the Spurs build around for the future?  Duncan, Parker and Ginobili will eventually retire.
2. I think Spurs fans shouldn't worry about the 2-3 start.  The Spurs will finish with the best record in the Western Conference.
3. Pelicans are going to be one of the hardest teams to stick Boris Diaw out there and have Anthony Davis away from the basket. Anthony Davis can run like a guard and guard like a center.

Final Thoughts
