Magic get their first win: Tobias Harris hits game winning shot.

Both the Orlando Magic and the Philadelphia came into the start of this game with both having a record of 0-4.  This game was exciting from beginning until the end.  The Orlando Magic defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 91-89 with the help of Tobias Harris hitting a clutch game winning shot.

Here are the top 5 scorers for both the Orlando Magic and the Philadelphia 76ers

Top 5 Orlando Magic scorers

Orlando Magic Thoughts

  1. It's nice to see them get their first win, even if it's not against a team who is good right now.  I do believe though that both Orlando and Philly are teams that are on the rise in the next few years.
  2. Tobias Harris hitting that game winning shot,  it was just as good as the game winning slam dunk last year against the Oklahoma City Thunder.  Do you remember that?  I only wish I would have been there in person to seen that.  I saw the highlights and loved it.
  3. Rookie point guard Elfrid Payton scored 8 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals and shot 4 of 8 from the field.   Solid performance from our rookie point guard.
  4. Rookie power forward Aaron Gordon scored 2 points, 5 rebounds and had 2 turnovers in 7 minutes and 29 seconds of action.  I feel Aaron Gordon will get even better.   Can't wait to see him and Victor Oladipo on the court together
  5. So will the Magic make it 2 in a row on Friday?  I hope so.  I'm going to be at the game on Friday, so if you see me feel free to say hi.
  6. Congratulations on the win.  I feel this team will get 30-35 wins this season.

Philadelphia 76ers Thoughts

  1. Rookie big man Nerlens Noel scored 4 points, 3 assists and 2 rebounds on 2 of 4 shooting, in over 17 minutes of action
  2. Nerlens Noel left the game with a sprained left ankle.  I've had one of those.  They hurt but I was better within a week or two.   I'm hoping for the same for Noel.  Noel will provide good competition, if you don't believe me see the block the other night he had against James Harden.
  3. For the first time since the 2001-2002 season the 76ers are 0-5.  I hate the word tanking because that is the word the media is throwing around.   I feel the Sixers are rebuilding.
  4. Besides Orlando Magic, Philly is a team on the rise.  I'm going to make a bold prediction that in the next three years, the Orlando Magic and the Philadelphia 76ers will be in the top 5 in the Eastern Conference.

Final Thoughts

What did you think of this game Magic fans?  How did it feel to get the 1st win of the season?  Will we win the second game on Friday?   Nikola Vucevic didn't have a double double for the first time this year, but Channing Frye took his place. The main thing is Orlando achieved the win.  Send me your thoughts  about this game or any other game. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land.
