Greg Monroe acquires a double-double to help the Pistons defeat Knicks to win first game of the season

I figured that eventually the Detroit Pistons would get their first win of the season. I have the Pistons this year as my sleeper team to make the playoffs in the Eastern Conference. Tonight the Detroit Pistons defeated the New York Knicks 98-93 to get their first win of the season. Greg Monroe was a huge part of that by achieving a double-double. Here are the stats for both the Pistons and the Knicks

Detroit Pistons Thoughts

1. Nice to see Greg Monroe put up 23 and 18.  I think him and Andre Drummond have to remain on this team.  
2. D.J. Augustin has been a nice pickup for this team.  I feel that he is a solid backup point guard, and can even start if necessary.  I think adding him and Caron Butler will give the Pistons some veteran locker room presence.  Both Augustin and Butler can score off the bench.  You can even try them in starters role at times to see how that works this year.  A lot of ways you can go with these lineups this year.
3. Again the Pistons are my sleeper team.  I believe they will sneak into that 8th seed and play either Chicago or Cleveland.
4. Detroit out rebounded the Knicks 55-43.  When you get your business done on the glass, it helps you win basketball games.  This team has Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe who can do that.  

New York Knicks Thoughts

1. Tim Hardaway Jr. is to me the second best player on the Knicks behind Carmelo Anthony.  Knicks could finish 8th seed as well.  
2. Jason Smith to me has been a nice surprise for the Knicks.  I think he is a keeper so far. What do you think?  
3. Melo doesn't seem to score as well this year as he did last year.  The season is early though.  I'm waiting for a 50 or 60 point game from him. 

Final Thoughts
