Kobe scores 28: Boozer adds 20 to help Lakers get their 2nd win of the season

The L.A. Lakers are off to a bad start at 1-9. I look at this roster and think it's better than the one they had last year. Of course Kobe wasn't here last year. I loved the additions of Jeremy Lin, Carlos Boozer and Ed Davis. Last night the Lakers got things done on the offensive end to win their second game of the season. The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Atlanta Hawks 114-109. Kobe Bryant lead the way with 28 points and Carlos Boozer added 20 points to help out the Lakers in the win. Here are the stats for each team.


L.A. Lakers Top 5 Scorers

Kobe Bryant- 28 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 10/18 FG,  5/5 FT, 3/7 3PTFG

Los Angeles Lakers Thoughts

1. Kobe Bryant can't be shooting 30-35 shots and expect this team to win.  20 shots to me is reasonable enough, unless he gets on a hot streak. 
2. It was nice seeing Nick Young (Swaggy P) back for the Lakers.  He is a good player coming off the bench.  I still love the shot last year he thought he made that ended up on Shaqtin A Fool. 
3. Getting double-double out of one of your big man is an accomplishment, getting it out of both Carlos Boozer and Jordan Hill is even better.
4. It's still early in the season Lakers fan.  I don't remember what year it was, but I think the Chicago Bulls starting 0-9 one season, and turned around in that same season and made the playoffs.  While 2-9 is not a great start, there are 71 more games left.  
5. Getting everyone involved in the offense more to me works better for the Lakers.  Only if the other guys are cold then Kobe can shoot to try and get the Lakers back in the game.

Atlanta Hawks Thoughts

1. This team has good pieces on it, but seems to fall around 7th to 8th seed.  
2. Paul Millsap was a stat sheet stuffer tonight in spite the Hawks lost. 
3. I wouldn't worry Hawks fan being 5-5. You're in the Eastern Conference. If you were in the Western Conference, I'd say start sweating.

Final Thoughts

The Lakers need more games like this.  Kobe is playing competitive , the rest of his teammates need to also.  It's early in the year, but it makes me wonder if Jim Buss would fire coach Bryon Scott.  I would rather if I'm the Lakers have Bryon Scott over Mike Dantoni again.   Send me your comments on what you're thoughts about this game, and the season so far.
