Hawks win over Knicks behind Kyle Korver scoring 27

Kyle Korver is not the best player in the NBA, but he is underrated. Korver is known as a three point specialist. Saturday night Kyle Korver scored 27 points to help the Atlanta Hawks improve to 2-3 by beating the New York Knicks 103-96. Here are the top stats for each team.

Atlanta Hawks Thoughts

1. To me the main go to guy on this team is Al Horford.  He is the franchise to me.  There are some solid pieces around him though ( Kyle Korver, Paul Millsap, Jeff Teague are the few that come to mind).   Horford only scored 6 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, on 3 of 13 shooting in this game.  
2. Should Atlanta follow the footsteps of the Philadelphia 76ers and tear down this team to build it back up?  Atlanta has been stuck in the middle finishing around 7th or 8th seed, and getting bounced out of the playoffs in the 1st or 2nd round.  
3. Kyle Korver is to me an incredible player in the NBA. He's not an all-star but he can score and knock down the three's.
4. With Charlotte and Washington on the rise, Chris Bosh being the man in Miami, will the Hawks make the playoffs?  I love to hear why you think they will or won't.  I think it will be close.  
5. Dennis Schroder with his 11 points and 5 steals.  I loved his on ball defense tonight against the Knicks.

New York Knicks

1.  I don't know if the Knicks have a draft pick in 2015.  There is a part of me that wants this team to tank and try to land Okafor, and another part of me that wants them to go on a huge winning streak.   I do like Carmelo Anthony.  
2. I want to see Jose Calderon return.  I'm curious to see how Melo and Calderon will be.  Calderon can score if necessary, but he will get his teammates involved.  I'm just curious to see how this will play out. 
3. I don't know all of the available free agents for the summer of 2015, but I feel New York should go for at least one of them.  If they were to get a top 5 pick and a free agent,  the Knicks could be a top 5 Eastern Conference Team.   Andrea Bargnani and Amare Stoudemire's contract will come off the books and will open up cap space for the Knicks. I believe you go for one big name and a cheaper solid role player.  

Final Thoughts
