Who needs Lebron James? Heat find a way to win home opener over Wizards

During the off-season Lebron James left the Miami Heat to return home to the Cleveland Cavaliers.  The Heat proved in their home opener they don't need King James as they started off with a 107-95 win over the Washington Wizards.  Chris Bosh stepped up and played the number one option.  Dwyane Wade played great too. Here are the top 5 scorers for each team.

Top 5 Miami Heat Scorers

Chris Bosh- 26 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists, 9/18 FG, 5/5 FT, 3/4 3PTFG
Norris Cole- 23 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 9/15 FG, 3/7 3PTFG, 2/2 FT
Dwyane Wade- 21 points, 3 assists, 2 steals, 8/16 FG, 3/3 FT, 2/3 3PTFG
Luol Deng- 12 points, 4 rebounds, 4/8 FG, 4/5 FT
Mario Chalmers- 8 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, 3/7 FG, 1/3 3PTFG

Top 5 Washington Wizards Scorers

Marcin Gortat- 18 points, 7 rebounds, 7/14 FG, 4/5 FT
Drew Gooden- 18 points, 5 rebounds, 8/11 FG, 1/2 3PTFG, 1/4 FT
Paul Pierce- 17 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, 6/10 FG, 4/5 FT
John Wall- 16 points, 11 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, 6/13 FG, 4/4 FT
Otto Porter- 13 points, 4 rebounds, 4/7 FG, 4/6 FT

Miami Heat thoughts

  1. Chris Bosh showed tonight that he can step up and become the man in Miami.  His game reminded me of his Toronto Raptors days. If he can continue to play like this Miami will be fine.
  2. Norris Cole scoring 23 points is incredible.   His 60 percent shooting is good.  Let's hope Cole can keep up. Maybe he could win the Most Improved Player award.
  3. Dwyane Wade is showing that if he remains healthy, he is still a top 3 shooting guard in the NBA.  Wade and Bosh can carry the load I believe.
  4. Luol Deng was solid in his Miami Heat season debut.  Shooting 50 percent is good.  If Deng can play solid it will make the Heat say Lebron who?
  5. The Heat scoring 107 points.  If they can get off to a great start,, they could be a top 3 Eastern Conference Team.

Washington Wizards Thoughts

  1. Paul Pierce putting up solid numbers in his Washington Wizards season debut.  17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists are decent number.  Pierce will provide great veteran leadership to the young back court of John Wall and Bradley Beal
  2. John Wall achieving a double-double. Wall is an elite point guard.  I would say top 10, maybe even top 5 right now.
  3. Otto Porter scored 13 points and shot solid tonight.  Hopefully the drafted Georgetown small forward will keep up with his performance.
