The Miami Heat started this season like they were not or maybe barely was going to make the playoffs. They started 9-8 in there first 17 games. Since then they've gone 48-16. The last 64 games for the Heat was good enough to lock down a number two seed in the playoffs. Now they will play either New York Knicks or Philadelphia 76ers. The Miami Heat defeated the Atlanta Hawks 98-90 to lock up the number 2 seed in the eastern conference. Lebron James led the way for the Heat with 34 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists, Dwyane Wade added 21 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds and Chris Bosh added 15 points and 9 rebounds. As for the Atlanta Hawks Josh Smith led in scoring with 17 points, Jamal Crawford added 13 points and Marvin Williams added 11 points. The win for the Miami Heat improves there record to 57-24 while the loss for the Atlanta Hawks drops them to 44-37. Here right now is how the eastern standings look for the playoff teams.
1- Chicago Bulls- 60-20
2- Miami Heat- 57-24
3- Boston Celtics- 55-26
4- Orlando Magic- 51-30
5- Atlanta Hawks- 44-37
6- New York Knicks- 42-38
7- Philadelphia 76ers- 41-40
8- Indiana Pacers- 37-44
