30 Days 30 Grades: Day 9 Central Division Eastern Conference Detroit Pistons

Welcome to day 9 of my 30 day blog series "30 Days 30 Grades".  Today we are going to talk about the off-season of the Central Division Detroit Pistons who are in the Eastern Conference.   First I am going to give my grade for the Pistons off-season. Then I will talk about the players they added whether it be through free-agency, trades or claimed off of waivers.  The third thing I will discuss will be the players that are subtracted from the team, whether they were lost to another team in free agency, traded away, or claimed off of waivers from another team. After all of that is done, I will discuss why I gave the Eastern Conference Detroit Pistons the grade that I gave them.

Detroit Pistons Off-Season Grade:  A-

Detroit Pistons Players  Additions:  Spencer Dinwiddie, DJ Augustin, Caron Butler, Aaron Gray, Cartier Martin, Jodie Meeks

Detroit Pistons Players  Subtractions: Rodney Stuckey, Josh Harrellson, Peyton Siva

Why did I give the Pistons a grade of A Minus?  I believe they had a solid off-season.  They upgraded their bench with adding veterans. They added veterans like point guard D.J. Augustin, small forward Caron Butler and big man Aaron Gray.  I believe that Augustin and Butler will provide some solid scoring coming off the bench.  I also like the pickup of two guard Jodie Meeks who can score and knock down the open three pointer.   I think Aaron Gray will give them solid backup minutes at the center position.  I think the off-season could have been a little better, but I don't think it was too bad.  What grade would you have given the Detroit Pistons?  Send me your comments. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land.
