Hawks keep soaring with their 13th straight win and winning 27 of their last 29 games

Be honest Atlanta Hawks fans,  how many of you would have thought that you would be at the top of the Eastern Conference after 42 games.   I up until this season have thought they are just an average team, and while they have some good players, a few of them jump out at me.   I have to give credit to not only incredible playing by some of the Atlanta Hawks players, but potential coach of the year candidate Mike Budenholzer.  This afternoon ESPN finally gave the Atlanta Hawks some credit by showing them on today.  I wanted to see the game but I was at my job, trying to make some money so I can hopefully soon try and bring a better blog.   You could put 4 or 5 players on the all-star team, but three players in my mind are deserving of it in my opinion.   Here are the three players and their stats in my mind from the Atlanta Hawks who should be in the all-star game.

Jeff Teague-  17.2 points per game, 7.3 assists per game, 2.7 rebounds per game and 1.8 rebounds per game,  47% FG, 33% 3PT,  86% FT

Paul Millsap-  16.9 points per game,  7.9 rebounds per game, 3.2 assists per game, 1.7 steals per game, 47% FG, 34% 3PT, 73% FT

Al Horford- 15. 2 points per game, 6.6 rebounds per game, 3.2 assists per game, 1.4 blocks per game, 54% FG, 74% FT

Today the Atlanta Hawks won their 13th straight game by beating the Detroit Pistons 93-82.  Paul Millsap and Mike Scott both lead the way for the soaring high flying hot streaking Hawks by scoring 20 points. Mike Scott's 20 points were off the bench.  Center Al Horford added 14 points and 7 rebounds. Three point specialist Kyle Korver added 13 points, and point guard Jeff Teague added 10 points and 7 assists.   Not only did the Atlanta Hawks win their 13th straight game, but they have won 27 of their last 29 games, and their record sits at 34-8, the best record in the Eastern Conference and the second best record in the NBA behind the Western Conference Golden State Warriors.   For the Detroit Pistons in my opinion there were only two guys worth talking about in my opinion.  The two guys I"m talking about are the Detroit's Pistons big men Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe.  Monroe and Drummond had what I would call rebound domination.  Monroe and Drummond combined for 38 rebounds which is 4 less boards than the Atlanta Hawks had for the game.   Here are the double-digit scorers and the statistical categories breakdowns of each team.

Atlanta Hawks double-digit scorers

Paul Millsap- 20 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 8/15 FG, 3/6 3PTFG, 1/2 FT
Mike Scott- 20 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, 9/15 FG, 2/6 3PTFG
Al Horford- 14 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds, 6/9 FG, 2/2 FT
Kyle Korver- 13 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 4/8 FG, 3/6 3PTFG, 2/2 FT
Jeff Teague- 10 points, 7 assists, 2 rebounds, 4/15 FG, 0/5 3PTFG, 2/2 FT

Detroit Pistons double-digit scorers

Greg Monroe- 16 points, 20 rebounds, 2 assists, 5/11 FG, 6/6 FT
Andre Drummond- 13 points, 18 rebounds, 5/9 FG, 3/12 FT
Jodie Meeks- 11 points, 3 assists, 3 rebounds, 4/11 FG, 3/7 3PTFG
Kentavious Caldwell- Pope- 10 points, 4 rebounds, 4/15 FG, 2/9 3PTFG

In spite the Detroit Pistons crashing the glass domination, the Hawks won their 13th straight game with impressive ball movement, better free throw shooting and forcing the Pistons to turn the ball over 8 more times than the Hawks.   I hope you are enjoying this NBA season so far, and enjoying this 13 game winning streak.  Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land.
