Welcome to day 15 of my 30 day blog series titled "30 Days 30 Grades". Today we are going to talk about Southwest Division NBA Team Memphis Grizzlies off-season grade. Here are the four things I'm going to do , 1) I'm going to give my Grizzlies off-season grade, 2) I'm going to talk about the Memphis players added to the team, whether it be through the draft, free agency, trade or claimed off of waivers, 3) I'm going to talk about the Grizzlies players subtracted from the team, and finally 4) I'm going to give the reason or reasons why I gave the Memphis Grizzlies the off-season grade that I gave them.
Memphis Grizzlies Off-Season Grade: C+
Memphis Grizzlies Players Added: Jordan Adams, Jarnell Stokes, Vince Carter
Memphis Grizzlies Players Subtracted: Mike Miller, Ed Davis, Jamaal Franklin
Why did I give the Memphis Grizzlies a C plus? I think their off-season could have been better. I do love the pickup of athletic scorer and dunker Vince Carter. Carter averaged almost 12 points a game, 3.5 rebounds per game and 2.6 assists per game for the Dallas Mavericks. Jordan Adams is a rookie shooting guard who was draft 22nd in the 2014 NBA Draft. Adams was drafted out of UCLA. I don't know what he will bring to the table in the NBA. I'm hoping he will provide some good scoring off the bench for the Grizzlies. Jarnell Stokes is a power forward who was drafted by the Utah Jazz, and then traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. Stokes is going to have to come in and take the place of Ed Davis at the power forward spot. Stokes averaged 13 points per game, and 9.6 rebounds per game last year, for the University of Tennessee. What do you think about the Grizzlies off-season? Do you agree with my grade of a C+? Should I have given them a higher grade, or a lower one? Send me your comments.
