Kwahi Leonard scores 29: Incredible first half shooting leads Spurs to take a 2-1 series lead over Heat

Did anyone else besides me watch game 3 of the NBA Finals last night on ABC?  I was impressed with what I was seeing. San Antonio Spurs were putting on a shooting clinic like I've never seen before.  At one point they were 18 of 20 (or 90 %) from the field.  The San Antonio Spurs got off to a hot start and never looked back.  Miami cut the lead to 7 at one point in the game. Shooting guard Marco Belinelli hit a huge three.  After Belinelli hit that three the Spurs fired back up again. Starting Boris Diaw was an excellent move by San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich , because it created floor spacing and another incredible passer on the court.  The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Miami Heat 111-92 to take a 2-1 series lead.  The Spurs shot 86 percent in the first quarter, and shot an NBA Finals record 76 percent in the first half.  For the game the Spurs shot 59 percent.  Kwahi Leonard was a huge factor in this game along with Daniel Green.  Listed below are the stats of the top 5 scorers for each team.

San Antonio Spurs Top 5 Scorers

  1. Kwhai Leonard- 29 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 10/13 FG, 3/6 3PTFG, 6/7 FT
  2. Daniel Green- 15 points, 5 steals, 3 assists, 7/8 FG, 1/2 3 PTFG, 0/1 FT
  3. Tony Parker- 15 points, 4 assists, 2 steals, 4/10 FG, 6/6 FT, 1/3 3PTFG
  4. Tim Duncan- 14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 4/7 FG, 6/8 FT
  5. Manu Ginobili- 11 points, 3 rebounds, 4/8 FG, 2/2 FT, 1/3 3PTFG

Miami Heat Top 5 Scorers

  1. Lebron James- 22 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds, 5 steals, 9/14 FG, 2/4 3PTFG, 2/3 FT
  2. Dwyane Wade- 22 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 8/12 FG, 6/8 FT, 0/1 3PTFG
  3. Rashard Lewis- 14 points, 4 rebounds, 5/7 FG, 4/5 3PTFG
  4. Ray Allen- 11 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds, 3/8 FG, 3/3 FT, 2/4 3PTFG
  5. Chris Bosh- 9 points, 3 rebounds, 4/4 FG, 1/1 3PTFG

The Spurs played incredible in game 3.  I think they have to do the same or close to it in game 4.  If the Spurs go up 3-1 in the series, I think it could be over.  I think Chris Bosh should have gotten more touches in this game.  Mario Chalmers has got to step up, and I believe he will in game 4.  What are your thoughts on this game?  What adjustments would you make if you were Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra?  I would do these things  1. Get Chris Bosh more touches  2.  Insert Udonis Haslem into the game   3. Give Greg Oden some more minutes for rebounding purposes and  4. Get Shane Battier some more minutes.  I think if the Heat do those four things they will be successful for game 4.   What do the Spurs have to do ?  1.  Don't get too relaxed just because you won game 3  2. Have Kwahi Leonard attack the basket more  3. Insert Boris Diaw into the starting lineup again and   4. At the end of the game have Ginobili run the point.  What are your thoughts on this game?  What are your thoughts on my ideas for each coach? Send me your thoughts on this game or any other game.
