Solid Team: Los Angeles Clippers and how they can improve

I do think the Los Angeles Clippers are an exciting basketball team to watch. They have power forward dunk highlight Blake Griffin and superstar point guard Chris Paul. I feel they are a top three team in the Western Conference this season. They also added Doc Rivers as a coach. I feel that Doc Rivers is a great coach and one of the best. They also added three point specialist J.J. Redick and solid defender and three point shooter Jared Dudley. I like some of the moves they made this offseason. Now that I stated the positive about the L.A. Clippers where are their problems? First problem they have is not so much Blake Griffin himself but his ability on defense. I hope that Doc Rivers can bring out a defensive dog in Griffin. Griffin is more of a dunk highlight than a midrange shooter. He could work on some midrange shooting. I've said enough about Griffin for now. The next problem the Clippers have is backup power forward or center. Antawn Jamison while is a good signing doesn't extactly scream defense to me. I'm not sold on Ryan Hollins and B.J. Mullens as the answer for backup. If Blake Griffin were to go down with an injury and I hope he doesn't who could step in for him? I proposed that the Clippers sign Drew Gooden or Tyrus Thomas. Why not both Gooden and Thomas? Gooden could come in and play some minutes behind Blake or DeAndre Jordan. Tyrus Thomas could come in for Blake and could play some small forward as well. I do feel though that the Clippers will be the team now in Los Angeles. So if the Clippers can add more depth to power forward and center position then they could have a shot at going to the NBA Finals. Maybe possibly Ryan Hollins and B.J. Mullens could improve under coach Doc Rivers. The Los Angeles Clippers though are better than they use to be. I think bringing Chris Paul here helped with that. As far as the bench with the exception of power forward and center position I'm impressed with the bench. They have Matt Barnes who play solid on defense. Jamal Crawford is the shooting guard who has the potential to become sixth man of the year. Crawford can score. Darren Collison is an interesting pickup. Collison can play solid defense behind Chris Paul. Collison can give Paul some rest. All in all though the Los Angeles Clippers are a top three team in the Western Conference and top seven in the NBA. Thank you for reading Pro Ballin Stuff. What are your favorite Clippers moments? Where do you think the Clippers can improve?
