Russell Westbrook scores 34 and leads Thunder to win over NBA Champs with a double-double

I've always heard the saying "It's not how you start but how you finish that matters". Today Russell Westbrook proved that point. After starting off shooting 1 of his first 8 shots, the Oklahoma City Thunder athletic scoring point guard improved in his last 20 shots by hitting 13 of them. The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the 2014 NBA Champs San Antonio Spurs 114-106 in San Antonio. Russell Westbrook lead the way for the Thunder with a double-double by scoring 34 points and dishing out 11 assists.  Defensive Power Forward Serge Ibaka scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. Second year center Steven Adams achieved a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds. Here are the stats for each team.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have improved their record to 2 games under .500 at 14-16.  The Thunder are 2 games back of the Pacific Division Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference for the 8th seed.  I am confident that the Thunder can catch the Suns as long as at least Westbrook or Durant are healthy.  If both Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are healthy they will rise up to a higher seed in the Western Conference. What are your thoughts about this win?  How far will this team go? Send me your comments. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land. I hope you are enjoying your holidays, and enjoying these games on ESPN, ABC and TNT.
