DeMarre Carroll double-double and Horford adds 20 to lead Hawks to win over Clippers

I personally find it frustrating how little respect ESPN gives the Atlanta Hawks.  I admit I underrate them, but I like giving credit where credit is due.  The Atlanta Hawks are playing winning basketball entering the game with a 20-7 record, winners of 5 straight games , and 9 of their last 10 games.  I admit this team to me was just an average team possibly making the 7th or 8th seed in the Eastern Conference.  I never would have pictured at this point in the season, they would be sitting in the 2nd seed only half a game behind the Toronto Raptors for the best record in the Eastern Conference. Tonight the Hawks found a way to get the job done against the Pacific Division Western Conference Los Angeles Clippers.  The Southeast Division Atlanta Hawks defeated the L.A. Clippers 107-104. Small forward DeMarre Carroll out of the University of Missouri ( which is the state where I was raised) , lead the way for the Hawks by scoring 25 points and pulling down 10 rebounds,  Big man Al Horford added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Here are the stats for each team.

Paul Millsap- 17 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, 4/12 FG, 8/9 FT, 1/4 3PTFG,
Kyle Korver- 14 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 4/9 FG, 4/7 3PTFG, 2/2 FT
Jeff Teague- 9 points, 6 assists, 2 rebounds, 3/8 FG,, 2/3 FT, 1/3 3PTFG

L.A. Clippers Top 5 Scorers

What I find interesting and intriguing about this game was that the Atlanta Hawks shot better from downtown than they did from the field.  Congratulations to the Hawks on a good win. What are your thoughts about the victory?  Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land. I hope you enjoy the holidays and have a Happy New Year.  I'm hoping for big changes in 2015 for this blog.  Send me your comments.
