Spurs are going to the NBA Finals again by beating the Thunder in overtime

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich made great adjustments by bringing in Matt Bonner and Boris Diaw more.  What I don't understand is why Oklahoma City Thunder coach Scott Brooks didn't use Caron Butler more in the game.  Butler could provide some scoring off the bench.  I think you left at least Westbrook or Durant on the court down the stretch.  When Durant goes out bring in Caron Butler.   I believe that not using Caron Butler was one of the factors that cost the Thunder the opportunity to go to a game 7.  The San Antonio Spurs are going back to the NBA Finals again for a rematch against the Miami Heat. The San Antonio Spurs won game 6 in overtime in Oklahoma City 112-107.  Listed below are the top 5 scorers for each team.  Please note how sad and pathetic it is that the Thunder only had 5 players for their team who scored.

Top 5 San Antonio Spurs Scorers

  1. Boris Diaw- 26 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 8/14 FG, 7/10 FT, 3/6 3PTFG
  2. Tim Duncan- 19 points, 15 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 6/14 FG, 7/8 FT
  3. Kwahi Leonard- 17 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 8/21 FG, 1/5 3PTFG
  4. Manu Ginobili- 15 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals, 4/14 FG, 6/7 FT, 1/7 3PTFG
  5. Daniel Green- 11 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals, 3 assists, 2 blocks, 4/12 FG, 2/6 3PTFG, 1/1 FT

Top 5 Oklahoma City Thunder Scorers
  1. Russell Westbrook- 34 points, 8 assist, 7 rebounds, 6 steals, 8/23 FG, 17/18 FT, 1/6 3PTFG
  2. Kevin Durant- 31 points, 14 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 assists, 12/25 FG, 5/7 FT, 2/8 3PTFG
  3. Reggie Jackson- 21 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 8/16 FG, 3/7 3PTFG, 2/2 FT
  4. Serge Ibaka- 16 points, 4 rebounds, 4 blocks, 3 assists, 5/10 FG, 5/6 FT, 1/1 3PTFG
  5. Derek Fisher- 5 points, 6 rebounds, 2/4 FG, 1/2 3PTFG

What are your thoughts on game 6?  How happy are you that the Spurs are going back to the NBA Finals?  What should Oklahoma City have done differently in game 6?  I said earlier and I'll say it again, I think  coach Scott Brooks should have put in Caron Butler in the game.   Sometime this week I will post my NBA Finals predictions in  an upcoming post.  Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land.   I encourage you to check out the stores on this blog and make a purchase.
