2014 NBA Draft: 13th pick Minnesota Timberwolves top 3 players to target

There has been a lot of talk about the T-Wolves trading Kevin Love alot.  I believe in talking about this Thursday Night when it's the 2014 NBA Draft.   The Minnesota Timberwolves have the 13th pick in this draft.  What players do you believe they should realistically target?  I have three players in mind they should target with the 13th pick.

Top 3 Players for T-Wolves to target with the 13th pick

  1. Adreian Payne-   With power forward Kevin Love more than likely leaving, why not go ahead and draft a power forward.  Payne works on his game.   Adreian Payne can knock down the three point shot which would stretch defenses out to the three point line.  Payne has athleticism and is a good leader.  I'm not saying Payne will be an all-star, but if he is willing to work to improve his game, you've got to love that as a Minnesota Timberwolves fan.
  2. Cleanthony Early-  This could be a reach here, but Early has good quickness, a decent midrange game, and good free throw shooting.  You can never have enough scoring. Early is average on defense.  Early could play both forward spots, but would be better suited at the small forward spot.  I don't think it would be bad if Minnesota drafted Early, if Payne were off the  board with the 13th pick.
  3. Doug McDermott-  Doug McDermott or shall I say Doug McBuckets, has amazing scoring skills by hitting midrange jumpers and knocking down three point shots.  My only knock on McDermott is his defense.  Not all NBA players are good on defense but can ooze with offensive.  I would only take McDermott if Payne and Early are off the board.

Do you agree with  the three players I would target with the 13th pick?  Am I missing someone that would you realistically target with the 13th pick?   Send me your comments on what you think about my choices.  Good luck to the Timberwolves on draft night. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land. I will be taking off some around July and August to work on this blog and my other blogs.
