Melo lights up for 62 points and has career night against the Bobcats
A week after Kevin Durant went off for 54 points, Carmelo Anthony goes off for 62 points. He had over 50 points before the beginning of the 4th quarter. Maybe this game will be a starting point for the New York Knicks to light a fire under them. Melo was lighting the Bobcats up like a Christmas tree or a neon sign. Carmelo Anthony not only scored 62 points but added 13 rebounds. Anthony's 62 points was the most points ever scored by a player at Madison Square Garden. Check out the video below for highlights. All videos are of the NBA. Melo left the game in the 4th quarter with over 7 minutes to go. I wish coach Mike Woodson would have let him rest for about 2-3 minutes and then bring him back in to try and get 70. If there was a song that would have described Carmelo Anthonys 62 point game it would have been "The Man" by Aloe Blacc. The 3rd pick in the 2003 NBA draft out of Syracuse, scored almost 50 percent of the New York Knicks offense. I want to know where was the defense for the Bobcats. It certainly didn't show up last night. They should have double or even triple teamed Melo. This was an off game for Charlotte. The basket looked like a huge swimming pool the way Melo was scoring. The New York Knicks defeated the Charlotte Bobcats 125-96. J.R. Smith added 14 points, 4 assists and shot 5 of 9 from the field. For the Charlotte Bobcats the best performance was by Al Jefferson. Jefferson has been a stud all season for this team. Big Al scored 25 points and pulled down 9 rebounds. Chris-Douglas Roberts added 14 points in over 15 minutes. Douglas-Roberts added 4 out of 5 from three point shooting. What was your thoughts on Melo's big night? Do you believe this is the beginning of a great start for the Knicks or are they done? Will the Bobcats bounce back from this loss?
