Surprise team in the Western Conference: Portland Trailblazers
The Portland Trailblazers are off to an incredible start this season. I didn't think they would be this good. I thought they possibly would be one of the playoff teams in the Western Conference, fighting for a playoff spot. I didn't expect this a 16-3 record. LaMarcus Aldridge is playing out of his mind this year. If he keeps this up, and doesn't get voted as an allstar then he would be robbed. Drafted 6th in the 2012 NBA Draft, point guard out of Weber State Damian Lillard is incredible. In Lillard's rookie season he averaged 19 points per game and 6 and a half assists. In the last 15 games, Portland is 14-1. Last night the Trailblazers played the Oklahoma City Thunder and defeated them 111-104. Power forward LaMarcus Aldridge achieved a double-double by scoring 38 points and pulled down 13 rebounds. Small Forward Nicolas Batum scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists in the game. Second year point guard Damian Lillard scored 14 points and had 6 assists. Wesley Matthews added 13 points and 5 rebounds. Robin Lopez also had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Lopez also had 4 blocks in the game. The win improves the Trailblazers record to 16-3 and are first in the Western Conference. For the Oklahoma City Thunder, Kevin Durant scored 33 points and pulled down 7 rebounds. Russell Westbrook scored 21 points and had 5 assists. Serge Ibaka had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while also having 3 blocked shots in the game. I am impressed with the hot start that Portland is off to. Can they keep it going? Will they be in the NBA finals this season? Send me your thoughts on this. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land.
