Shooting Guards: The basketball position I feel isn't deep enough in the NBA.
The Shooting Guard position in the NBA has a few talented athletes in it. Their aren't very many that I would consider superstars at that position. In my eyes right now their are only five starters that play the 2 guard spot I would consider very awesome in my eyes. Here is the list of the five shooting guards. 1) Kobe Bryant- To me he is still the best off guard in the NBA. He is the energy of the Los Angeles Lakers. Last year he led all shooting guards in scoring by averaging 27.3 points per game. Bryant has five rings with the Lakers. One more and he will tie the great Michael Jordan. 2) James Harden- At only 24 years old Harden is a stud. He was second in scoring behind Kobe. James averaged 25.9 PPG. The bearded two guard will carry this Houston Rockets team to a top five seed in the Western Conference. If he improves on the defensive end watch out league. 3) Dwyane Wade- In spite all the times he was injured, DWade still can ball. He's a three time NBA champion, Nine time All-Star, NBA first team twice, Three times defensive second team, and many more intriguing statistical categories that you could on about. Wade's best season was 2008-2009 season when he averaged 30.2 points per game, 7.5 assists per game, and 5 rebounds a game. When Wade is healthy he is dangerous. 4) Monta Ellis- While Ellis can't defend well, he's a two guard who can play like a point guard if needed to. Now on the Dallas Mavericks I think he will get many open looks. Last season he was 4th in shooting guards in scoring with over 19 points per game. If you're looking for someone to just flat out score Ellis can be your guy. I wouldn't count on him on the defensive end of the ball though. 5) Joe Johnson- A six time professional basketball all star, who has played for the Celtics,Suns, Hawks and Nets can score. The only problem I find with Joe Johnson is when it comes to the playoffs he chokes. He shoots almost 40 percent from three point range, and averages about 45 percent from the field. I wouldn't trust him during the postseason, but if you want a player that you can trust during the regular season, then Joe Johnson is it. So who do you think are the best two guards in the NBA? Share with me you're opinions on this. Thank you for reading Pro Basketball Hoops Land.
