Orlando Magic and the Number 2 Pick in 2013 NBA Draft. The possible three players they should choose
When I was down in Orlando Florida for a while I walked by the Orlando Magic stadium I don't know how many times. I am hoping they make a smart choice this season with the number 2 pick in this draft. There aren't really a lot of great players in this draft but there are three possible people if they don't pick in this draft they will regret it. Here is the list of three players and why they should take them.
1) Ben McLemore- SG- 6'5" 190 LBS- Kansas. The six foot five shooting guard who many compare to Ray Allen is my first choice in the 2013 NBA Draft that the Orlando Magic should take. I really feel that they need a two guard to build around. I believe that McLemore the shooting guard out of Kansas will be a good starting piece for the Magic to build this team around. I love the fact that he can shoot the three point shot and also has some amazing athleticism. So if they the Cleveland Cavaliers choose not to select McLemore then the Magic should.
2) Trey Burke- PG- 6'1"- 190LBS- Michigan- If McLemore is taken off the board with the 1st pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers then I feel Burke could be a great answer for the Magic at the point guard spot. Trey Burke is a clutch point guard and I feel you could give him the ball during clutch situations especially in the fourth quarter. I also believe that Burke the six foot one point guard out of Michigan will be a huge upgrade over Jameer Nelson. The Orlando Magic had the worst record in the NBA during the 2012-2013 season with a record of 20-62. So I hope someone from the Magic does read this and take this post very very seriously. Please pick McLemore or Burke with the second pick.
3) Anthony Bennett- SF/PF- 6'7" - 240 LBS- UNLV- If for some strange reason the Magic doesn't pick McLemore or Burke then I can see Anthony Bennett being a solid pick for the Magic. Bennett is an amazing six foot seven combo forward with a seven foot one wingspan. Bennett could be a nightmare matchup for the small forwards and could I believe bang inside with some of the power forwards. I would love Bennett to be on the Magic assuming that they don't take McLemore or Burke. With the 2014 Draft for next year the only way to take Bennett is to play him mostly at the power forward position. I think seeing Vuceic and Bennett in the low post would be fun to watch as well.
I just hope the Orlando Magic picks smart here and also maybe signs Brandon Jennings if they don't take Burke. Thank you for reading my NBA Blog.
