L.A. Lakers achieve number 2 seed by beating the Sacramento Kings

Tonight might possibly be the last night the Sacramento Kings play in Sacramento. They played against the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers started out good and were ahead of the Kings at halftime 56-48. Even the third quarter the Lakers were playing good and were ahead of the Kings 88-70. You would have thought that with an 18 point lead the Los Angeles Lakers were safe. The fourth quarter though the Los Angeles Lakers had a breakdown and got outscored by the Kings 29-11. After regulation the scored ending up being tied at 99 a piece. So in overtime the Los Angeles Lakers outscored the Kings 17-9 to achieve a 116-108 victory over the Sacramento Kings. This victory was big for the Los Angeles Lakers because it moved them into the number 2 seed. For the Kings I would have to say they played possibly there last game pretty well against last year's NBA champs. The Kings will have to hope for the draft next season. The Los Angeles Lakers were led in scoring by Kobe Bryant who scored 36 points, Lamar Odom added 22 points. Pau Gasol achieved a double double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Shannon Brown added 15 points. For the Sacramento Kings Marcus Thornton led with 33 points, Tyreke Evans added 19 points , 7 assists and 6 rebounds. Jason Thompson scored 16 points and grabbed 8 rebounds and Samuel Dalembert added a double double with 16 points and 18 rebounds.
